AAh, good one. I withdraw the remark. Then again, who in their right mind reads COBOL, eh?

Believe it or not, there are still millions of businesses around the world that still use COBOL, and there are probably hundreds of billions of lines of COBOL code around that tens of thousands of COBOL coders need to read and understand and maintain. Though other programming languages are now the preferred coding language, COBOL may still be way at the top or near the top when it comes to the most prevalent languages still in use.

Savage is such a BS artist. There wasn't a single question even remotely associated with his "banning" at Question Time last Wednesday.

The software we use at my work is written in a 32 bit version of COBOL.

I like it’s flexibility. The language is easy to understand and powerful for writing report and update programs.

Yep! It's still around and as powerful, perhaps even more powerful than ever. And, when I used it, we were doing all kinds of things, including what you're using it for and for on-line transaction processing, and just about anything and everything that the current languages are being used for today. I think it will outlast Java and C/C++ and other newer languages around today,.

[ Not only on politics in the united states, but on politics around the world. The savage nation can change britain. The savage nation can transform america. And the savage nation can make the world a safe place for men and women of conscience to speak their minds freely. ]

Political machines don't leave so easy.. in the United States.. Until they have killed and terrorized(intimidated) a good number of people..

COBOL? Wow, I haven’t heard that name in a while. Glad to see that it is still about and doing some good work.

It is rather egomaniacal of him to claim that his banning has become a major campaign issue in Britain and that it has ‘tipped the scale’ in favour of the Conservatives. They were already tipped in favour of the Conservatives long before Smith’s latest in a long line of gaffes.
I’m also a bit dubious of his claim that Broon apologised to Parliament for banning him. I know he’s apologised ‘on behalf of all politicians’ to the British Public for MP’s expenses claims, but I can’t find anything about the Dear Leader apologising or even mentioning Michael Savage in any way. He strikes me as having a rather inflated sense of his own importance...

You ought to be. Savage, despite his terminal degree in shrinkology, is a volcanic social commentator who knows what he likes (he's elderly) and what/whom he doesn't. He above all people should understand that the UK Government has a perfect right to exclude unpacific people that they think might roil the waters. Why they don't throw out more of the odious mullahs of Finsbury Park is a small mystery, but my understanding has been that they have.

Savage isn't everyone's, or even a lot of people's, cup of tea. He's loud, and he can be unpleasant.
