Skip to comments.APA revises 'gay gene' theory (not likely that homosexuals are born that way)

The attempt to prove that homosexuality is determined biologically has been dealt a knockout punch. An American Psychological Association publication includes an admission that there's no homosexual "gene" -- meaning it's not likely that homosexuals are born that way.
For decades, the APA has not considered homosexuality a psychological disorder, while other professionals in the field consider it to be a "gender-identity" problem. But the new statement, which appears in a brochure called "Answers to Your Questions for a Better Understanding of Sexual Orientation & Homosexuality," states the following:
"There is no consensus among scientists about the exact reasons that an individual develops a heterosexual, bisexual, gay or lesbian orientation. Although much research has examined the possible genetic, hormonal, developmental, social, and cultural influences on sexual orientation, no findings have emerged that permit scientists to conclude that sexual orientation is determined by any particular factor or factors. Many think that nature and nurture both play complex roles...."
That contrasts with the APA's statement in 1998: "There is considerable recent evidence to suggest that biology, including genetic or inborn hormonal factors, play a significant role in a person's sexuality."
Peter LaBarbera, who heads Americans for Truth About Homosexuality, believes the more recent statement is an important admission because it undermines a popular theory.
"People need to understand that the 'gay gene' theory has been one of the biggest propaganda boons of the homosexual movement over the last 10 [or] 15 years," he points out. "Studies show that if people think that people are born homosexual they're much less likely to resist the gay agenda."
Matt Barber with Liberty Counsel feels the pronouncement may have something to do with saving face. "Well, I think here the American Psychological Association is finally trying to restore some credibility that they've lost over the years by having become a clearly political organization as opposed to an objective, scientific organization," he states. (Hear audio report)
With the new information from the APA, Barber wonders if the organization will admit that homosexuals who want to change can change.
Matt Barber"It's irrefutable from a medical standpoint that people can leave the homosexual lifestyle," he argues. "Homosexuality is defined by behavior. Untold thousands of people have found freedom from that lifestyle through either reparative therapy or through -- frankly, most effectively -- a relationship with Jesus Christ."
LaBarbera agrees. "Change through Christ is possible -- and it's one of the most heartwarming aspects of the whole gay debate," he shares. "Many men and women have come out of homosexuality, mostly through a relationship with Jesus Christ. The fact that these professional organizations will not study that, will not acknowledge that, shows how 'in the tank' they are for the homosexual movement."
LaBarbera stresses that even though elites will not recognize the change, that does not mean the change does not exist. In fact, both Barber and LaBarbera believe that God changes people through Christ -- regardless of the sin.
It is a learned behavior. How else do you explain the flaming homos bizarre quirks?
The sad thing is, by making homosexuality a searing hot political issue, gay activists have ensured no unbiased scientific research is ever going to be done on the origins and effects of homosexuality.
bump for truth
unbiased scientific research would lead to a treatment and a cure. homosexuals do not want a cure.
“God changes people through Christ, regardless of the sin.”
Amen. Simple as that.
Ouch!!!!....Thats gonna leave a mark.
A process called METHOLATION can occur at any time in your life to turn on or turn off genes.
The study of this phenomenon is new to science, but homosexuality and a number of other pathologies clearly show signs of the occurrence of metholation.
What you need to look up are the terms EXOGENOUS and METHOLATION.
It’s the same as this with a different title:
Scripture is verified again.
Someone once tried to convince me homosexuality is “natural” by citing a study done on penguins. The researchers isolated a group of male penguins from birth, and when the birds grew up, they mated with each other. If it happens in other species, it must be natural, right?
One little problem with that line of thinking: according to this study, we observe homosexuality in penguins only when we thrust them into very UNNATURAL, ABNORMAL circumstances (i.e. growing up with no mother and no contact whatsoever with females of the species).
I don’t know where a kid would learn it unless brought up in a gay household.
Very beautiful stylish friend of mine has a lesbian daughter who hated dresses and dolls and everything feminine from the time she could walk and talk. They took her to shrinks and did everything to enhance her experience as a girl, short of giving her drugs, of course, and the kid just got more and more masculine with every passing year.
I lived in San Francisco for ten years. You cannot live in that city without having some gay friends, and I had several. As I got to know them, I observed that some of the gay men were gay by choice and others were just girls.
There were many moments of truth when the AIDS epidemic struck, with many gay men admitting they just LIKED being gay but now wanted to switch to heterosexual relationships. And they did.
Genetic? I really don’t know, but it seemed to be true for some of them.
It’s not a “gender identity” problem, either. Since the 1960s, scientists have known how to manipulate the gender identity of fetuses in the womb, about halfway through gestation. For *animals* this determines their gender identity—but *not* for people. People are much more complicated than that.
About halfway through gestation, a male fetus will excrete a bit of testosterone from its testes, that goes to its brain, and tells it that it is a “male” brain. If that testosterone squirt doesn’t get there, the brain is a “female” brain by default.
There are all sorts of ways to manipulate this. You can give a squirt to a female fetus brain that will make their brain male. You can block the squirt completely. You can direct the squirt to just one side of the brain or the other.
However, if there is a gender identity problem in humans, it does *not* manifest itself as homosexuality. There *may* be some gender confusion, such as effeminate boys and masculine girls, but that is within normal range.
In extreme cases, there are children who feel they are in the wrong gender body, and crave a sex change. But even this is not related to who they are sexually attracted to.
Homosexual men can be either effeminate or masculine, the same with lesbians. They may have very firm gender identity, or they might be of the opposite gender, or they may be androgynous.
Are these the same tards that said sex w/ kids won’t hurt them!
Lot's o' reasons but most importantly is the child being given loving attention for the child's sake? V. beautiful and v. stylish have nothing to do with good parenting on the issue of gender orientation. One might say preoccupation with beauty and style directs focus of parent elsewhere than child causing child to attention-seek. Just saying . . . .
I was thinking that it is quite common to either be attracted to or repelled by your parents.
A real girly-girl mom could have had quite a repelling influence on her daughter, who felt she was being dressed up like a little dolly. I’ve seen it happen.
