Host Cracks Bush Joke at Geography Bee
Associated Press ^ | May 21, 2009 | staff

WASHINGTON (May 20) — The nation's top geography whiz breezed through questions about mountain ranges, rivers and world capitals Wednesday, but he was stumped when National Geographic Bee host Alex Trebek asked him to name one of his weaknesses.

"Um ..." said Eric Yang, 13, pausing. The Texas teen had just revealed to the "Jeopardy!" host how he crafts his own chess strategies and plays the piano.

"That's OK," Trebek replied. "You remind me of a former president, but we won't get into that."

Alex Trebek is Hollywood. ALL from Hollywood are moonbats. No exceptions.

"You remind me of a former president, but we won't get into that."

Great thing to say to a 13 year old. Have they figured out they won?....the House, the Senate, the Presidency....

What a pathetic piece of sh@t.....

That was totally out of line.

“The quip was an apparent reference to a 2004 news conference in which then-President George W. Bush was unable to name a single mistake he had made since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Some in the audience at National Geographic’s headquarters in Washington gasped at Trebek’s joke. Others laughed.”

Isn't there one place where Bush bashing can NOT take place?

Shame on Trebek.

I didn't know he was a antagonistic, Bush basher.

Yeah, that’s right, he is Canadian. Bush is a genius when you stack him up to Obama.

Not so. Forget Jeopardy. Watch Wheel of Fortune. Pat Sajak is a true conservative and unlike that dork Trebek is funny and can actually adlib a funny line.

This buffoon is such a pretender. He’s as big a reader as Obama is. Neither of them can think half as fast on their feet as George Bush, and I’m not a big fan of Bush. Still, let’s just tell it like it is.

Pat is a good guy, and I second your thoughts. He does lean Conservative.

Well, in Trebek’s defense, a geography bee winner couldn’t really be compared to the President of 57 States Obama.

“Alex Trebek is Hollywood. ALL from Hollywood are moonbats. No exceptions.”

I would expand that statement into anyone in the performing arts—worldwide. I was horrified to read an interview of one of my favorite actors (Philip Quast, Australia) and how he doesn’t “recognize”/like his country anymore because it’s too “American” and conservative.

Sigh.......shut up and sing, Philip. :0(

I remember that news conference. Bush gets asked to name his mistakes, while Obama is asked to say what enchanted him about being President. Ugh.

Or "Secretary of Defense Bill Gates."

I hear this style of “but we won’t get into that.”comment from leftards continually. It’s a cowardly hit and run technique to avoid defending an absurd idea. You certainly did “get into that”.

Dittos on that. They get their jab in, and want to to shut it down before a return shot is incoming.

When people pull that on me, I respond with something like, "Sure we will" or "Why not?"
