I’ve always thought that there is legal argument to be made regarding special privileges given to a segment of the population, which goes against the idea that “all men are created equal.” It seems like a logical counter-argument to these special laws for gays, but I have yet to hear it from any politician.

this bill only increases penalties for violent crime. It doesn’t anything you say or any opinion you have, unless you also commit violent crime. It certainly does not do some of the things its accused of - you won’t see Christians arrested for saying that homosexuality is wrong nor is it a “pedophile protection act.” WND is wrong.

That said, I totally and absolutely object to hate crimes legislation in general - violence aimed at individuals should be prosecuted equally and violence aimed at terrorizing a group is already covered under terrorism laws. The very idea of special protections for select groups violates the constitution.

Hate crimes = NO freedom of thought or religion and the loss of parental rights if you are against teaching your young children the normalcy of perversion.
