I don't think your plan will work. It sure sounds like only a $45K car can be bought and the usual "on paper" trade in's for a beater car can be done (Which the dealers do anyway-I had a maybe worth $500 old car that 'looked like $2000 trade in on paperwork 2 years ago) but the dealership gets $4500, per trade in from Uncle Sam. So why not just order them (Obama is their freaking boss) to knock down the prices of the cars?
This will cost US in the long run as it will be 140 something to 200 million. We pay later. It is a scam.

Im not going to count on the free money. Itll be several months before Im ready to trade it in and doubt the money will still be there - and Im not about to buy a more expensive car than I can afford just to have some free money.
