I think there are more than let on. I play in a band that has several members that are extremely liberal. Sometimes it gets to be a bit much to listen to all the ridiculousness, but I generally put up with it. I play music with a number of other people that are heavily liberal as well.
There have been times that I’ve sojourned away from all of them because of it, simply because it just gets too infuriating and I’ll lose friends if I don’t live and let live so to speak.
I’d venture to guess that most conservative types don’t want to put up with the pain of dealing with a seemingly never ending line of liberal associations that they’d have to maintain in order to be successful in “arts and culture”.
Not sure if that’s what you’re getting at...

No, that’s not quite what I was getting at.
What I’m getting at is that the same mecanism that you seem to approve of, which conists of labeling a person because of their affinities and then eliminating them when they dare to question your actions or statements is exactly the mechanism that keeps conservatives with abilities and talents out of the arts and culture — if they get near the museum job or onto the staff of a magazine of newspaper or into a cultural institution or organization,they are labeled as an outsider, and the minute they question say, the art exhibition celebrating pornography or abortion, they are out the door, or the process begins to get them out the door.
Perhaps my last ping to you is more appropriate then...
