I agree with everyone else that she’s a ticking time bomb, but I’m not so sure you should fire her. She put that in an email for a reason - she’s making a paper trail for when she sues your a$$. Go back and check every email exchange you have with this woman - you can be sure she has. Go over them with a fine tooth comb, with an employment attorney, preferably. Then, when you eventually do fire her, don’t give her a reason - I’m assuming you live in an “at will” state.
and I would work backchannels with other businesses to reduce the volume of new work this consultant obtains.
Releasing her should be no problem. Of course, now that she has “documented” your biased behavior by sending you an e-mail (that’s why she mailed it instead of talking to you personally), you will have to make sure that NOTHING in your reasons for releasing her could in anyway tie back to this incident.
...AND if you used the word, “ladies”, you’d probably be accused of being either chauvinist or patronizing. You can’t win with this type, so just don’t try. Something about “the pig enjoys it” when you wrestle in the mud...

The fact that she emailed you as opposed to telling you in person might suggest she is also documenting such “incidents”.
Any other such emails which could be used to show a pattern of “harassment”?
I was leaning more towards Whiskey Tango Foxtrot..
What an absurd world we live in.
I’d tell the GIRL to grow up, lighten up, get a sense of proportion and learn when to pick her fights.
But I could get away with it- cause I’m a girl ;)
I’d give her a pink slip too- (although that may result in a sexual harrassment lawsuit) that attitude will permeate her work and the chip on her shoulder is nothing more than a tool to manipulate.
To demand I see it any other way is ageism.
She is correct...that word is offensive.
The proper term in formal business settings is BABE.
Best idea yet.
I open doors for women, and I have taught my daughters both directly and by my example with their mother to EXPECT to be treated well, and if the guy’s too stupid, selfish or juvenile to show them they respect as daughters of the King (not me, God), show him the door. Mostly it’s worked.

I’m reminded of that great Cleveland, Ohio expression....
“Don’t plan to run with the big dogs, unless you’re ready to pee in the tall grass.”
*sigh*
BINGO!
Sorry - I assumed it was apparent Whiskey Tango Foxtrot was up!

Thank God there are some really smart and wonderful women in this world, because there are so many selfish spiteful ones who are happy to make life like walking on eggs and miserable if we let them. Bye bye selfish consultant.
You have to wonder if the consultant would have been just as miffed if you had used the term lady in place of girl. It has all that perceived baggage of male patrimony those who are looking to be offended. Judging from her ungraceful behavior, the use of the term would also remind her of the gulf between herself and that once universally exalted standard.
Instead of "girl," may I suggest "beeyotch?"
I’d reply
“Thanks for the tip, Toots! Btw, we’ve decided to terminate your contract, as we’ve hired a pair of hot chicks to fill your FM pumps. Who could refuse two hot chicks at once?”
OK, I would not do that, but it’s nice to pretend sometimes.
Or start referring to her as a “homosapien”...
Be polite, be professional but have a plan to kill everyone you meet.
Oops, sorry. Wrong thread.
ROFLMAO!!
