The resolution imposes new sanctions on the reclusive communist nation's weapons exports and financial dealings, and allows inspections of suspect cargo in ports and on the high seas.

U.S. deputy ambassador Rosemary DiCarlo said Friday's vote was a strong and united international response to North Korea's unacceptable behavior.

His people are already poor and starving, until China buckles down and really puts the screws to him it won’t matter what the UN does.

"The U.N. Security Council has approved tough new sanctions against North Korea for its recent nuclear test."

That'll teach them. Not that they are allowed import much of anything as it is due to sanctions.

No more ketchup packets for N Korea....Ouch!

A fart wafting across the DMZ is reason for him to declare it an Act of War.

At this stage I’m thinking it’s more of what the military believes than him anyway.

"...until China buckles down and really puts the screws to him it won’t matter what the UN does.

Why would that make any difference? China and NoKo aren't kissin' cousins. Oh, b/c China has a bigger army? That doesn't seem to bother NoKo one bit.

Remember, it wasn't that long ago that China was sending them train loads of food, and the NoKos were keeping it(them) -- the food and the trains! China barked at them that they wanted their *&^$! trains back...or else. Kim & Co. essentially brush them off with an airy wave of the hand. China ranted and raved a bit more, then pretty much let the whole matter drop.

IOW, China vis-a-vis NoKo is no silver bullet.

True, and North Korea has nukes and someone crazy enough to use them at the slightest provocation.

Chances are the best bet would to be wait it out until he drops dead. Which might not be very long if he has already named his successor.

And Hornery. (horny)

I wonder if the Chinese have hackers that have already disabled the launch capability of Kim Jong Il’s weaponry. Plus I am sure spies have already bribed the Generals heavily.
