Report: Defeated Ahmadinejad rival arrested in Iran
Jewish Journal ^ | 13 June 2009 | Yossi Melman

Iranian presidential candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi was reportedly arrested Saturday following the reformist’s defeat at the polls by hardliner Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Supporters of Mousavi, the main challenger to Ahmadinejad, responded to the election with the most serious unrest in Tehran in a decade and charged that the result was the work of a dictatorship.

Mousavi’s arrest was reported by an unofficial source, according to whom the presidential hopeful was arrested en route to the home of Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Read the full story at HAARETZ.com.

What happened to Obama’s “peace and love” speech that was going to make everything “just fine and dandy” in the Middle East? It looks like it’s getting worse over there. Bibi is nuts if he caves in to any of Obama’s demands.

Its just typical leftist libearlism on display... You lose and election like John Kerry did and then you run kicking and screaming and telling your supporters to get out there and say it was stolen, blah, blah, blah and start riots and all that real Peaceful stuff.

Obama is just not a big sell in the Middle East he is a weakling and now America is perceived as such. The only real shame is that when America’s enemies come here and kill Americans they don’t just exact revenge on their liberal enablers. Wish that could be fixed somehow.

He is right, just like is happening here in the US, in our case, turning [a republic] into a democracy.

I would not be surprised if he allowed the world court to bring charges
against Bush administration. I would not be surprised if
behind the scenes, Rahm Emmanuel, Eric Holder and David Axelrod
were planning to mete out some punishment.

With mass protest in the streets and the mad mullahs on the defense, now would be a really good time for Israel to strike.

Weakness indeed. Begging for the chance to “talk” to A-jad to set his mind straight:

“”At a May 29, 2009 meeting with Iranian academics, Ahmadinejad said: “The Americans keep sending us messages for negotiation. We are ready to (hold) talks and cooperate. Of course, we are ready to cooperate in global management, global disarmament, and resolving global problems under equal conditions… I should say that Iran’s nuclear issue has been resolved and it is over.”
