Sarah Palin Is The Future Of The GOP

If the liberal loons would have just shut up after the election in 2008, perhaps Sarah Palin would have been forgotten, a mere footnote in history.

The problem is, the liberal loons just can't help themselves, and are genetically encoded to attack anyone with ideas they deem repellent.

If you're pro life, you're an superstitious idiot. If you're against homosexual marriages you're a evil bigot. If you dare to question global warming, you're a dupe for big business. If you own a gun and like to hunt you're a mindless barbarian.

We all know the predictable screed from the irrational leftist loons.

Sarah Palin reminds the progressive nutjobs of these things, and stands as a symbol for them to mobilize against, mock, and demean. Democrats have a long history of this, calling Ronald Reagan a cowboy, Bush 41 a secret spook, Quayle a dummy, and Bush 43 a boob.

Sarah Palin represents everything the goons on the left stand against.

When you add that to the fact she's smart, good looking, and has a deadly sense of humor-- well, you have the possibility the first female president of the USA could force the first black president of the USA out of office after one term.

Things had better go well for Obama in the next three years, because they will go swimmingly for Palin.

Palin has put together a deal with TransCanada, a pipeline building company, and Exxon, of the oil producing fame, to build a new pipeline from Alaska to the continental USA that will transport NATURAL gas.

I'm not sure many Americans yet realize, but natural gas is going to be a HUGE transitional fuel as we seek "independence from foreign oil supplies."

Natural gas is going to be a very large factor in fueling our cars, as well as our buildings, mainly because the USA has a very large reserve of natural gas at their disposal, and Palin has perfectly positioned herself to take advantage of this confluence of events.

This project ALONE will keep her in the news for the next few years, and I'm sure we can count on the leftist loons like David Letterman to keep her in the headlines as well.

Sarah Palin is the future of the GOP, if they know what's good for them.

Its not about the Kenyan to me

Oh but it is. No Republican is going to win the WH if they don't attack Obama's policies. Perhaps you've seen the news of independents and traditional Dems balking at Obama's policies? So far, Palin is the only Republican going after him.

Its about her

What about her? Like I said, she has held elective office since 1992. And since Bush and Romney pretty much killed the tradition that Governors have to serve two terms before making the leap to POTUS, then that qualifies her to as well.

Does she have a real platform?

Just plain old-fashioned, hot dogs and apple pie, your grandmother's wisdom, common-sense American conservatism. If you're looking for bullet points and attention to detail, then Mitt's your guy.

New ideas? Solutions using conservative principles for 21st century problems

Uh, she just signed a Natural Gas deal and denounced the bailouts. That 21st Century enough for you?

What people don’t seem to see what I am getting at is Reagan had a real intellectual framework for his agenda, which he espoused from 1964 until he became POTUS

Same for Palin since 1992

Honestly, I just haven’t seen enough of Palin yet to say she is ready to become President. I won’t make the same mistake again that I made in 1999 with George W (who by all accounts, should have been a far better President with his experience as governor of a large state)

First of all, Alaska's Governor is far more powerful and influential than Texas' Governor. The Governor of Texas is very weak. You say you haven't seen enough of Palin but you're just self-doubting yourself in that she doesn't stand a chance and think she should be written-off.

Some information on the “Progressive Republicans” movement:

Excerpt:
Open Letter to My Fellow Republicans…

We, the Undersigned, as long-time, loyal Republicans, supporters of the Party’s candidates and its core values of smaller, more efficient government, individual liberty and personal freedom condemn in the strongest possible fashion the circumstances and actions of so-called “conservatives” who have driven Senator Arlen Specter and many of our best and brightest from our Party. We also call on every member of the Party to take action to bring our Party back from the brink of irrelevancy.

We call for the RNC leadership to take this opportunity to begin an honest, frank, open and, most importantly inclusive “soul-searching” exercise, to determine what has been driving individuals out of the Party and to create a comprehensive strategy to reverse this trend.

“Progressive Republicans” also support: amnesty, government funded birth control. Jack Kemp was interested in Progressive Republicans.

There is some truth in that. As we've seen with the left, they measure intelligence by the college/degree achieved. How many times did we hear them make fun of Palin's degree from an Idaho college?

A college degree is no longer an indicator of future success either. As I've always said, all the book learning in the world doesn't mean a damn thing if you don't have common sense. That pretty much wipes out the leftist intelligentsia, and some of the elitist snobs in the GOP as well.

You can tell many of these people don’t read the official Governor of Alaska site daily to see the issues, agenda,
what Gov. Palin is accomplishing.
Far more than most Govs.

There are tens of dozens of other sites daily who go
into the accomplishments, economy, energy, security, etc.

Some folks would rather read what the Left Wing and other
malcontents are bashing out as it fits their agenda.

Ok, here’s my deal, and it’s bound to make some FReepers angry. I don’t want my candidate to run against Obama. I want my candidate to run for something. Rather than belittling Obama’s economic plan, I want to see a candidate propose a better one. The same for every other issue. I could care less what you’re against, I want to know what you are actually for.

That’s been a huge problem with the conservative movement in general, and it’s gotten much, much worse since 2004. Way too many so-called conservatives don’t stand for anything other than they don’t like liberals. In essence, they let liberals define who and what they are. Not only isn’t it productive, but it’s caused some reactionary types to get caught with their pants down when the broken clock moment comes and a liberal is right about something.

Please go check out the Media Malpractice DVD http://www.howobamagotelected.com when you actually see the parts they cut out from Couric’s interview you see that she did in fact answer the court cases (Couric took them off the table Exxon-Valdez & Roe v. Wade) as well as other things. I’m not saying she’s perfect because nobody is and she def. has plenty of time to brush up and it appears she has been w/ her recent interview with Lauer and Blitzer - she is doing live ones now too - so that’s a big difference/deal.

She has plenty of time to grow and learn if she wants to (I think she is) and speaking and communicating is easier to learn and practice than having charisma and being principled.

I believe in an individual’s character more than their college degree. I, myself, am white collar and have no problem with that - but I’ve also been incredibly humbled due to other circumstances which is why principles and morals mean much more...

Take care FRiend :)

I don’t want my candidate to run against Obama.

Sorry, but you have to attack Obama's policies and point out how destructive they are. If Palin runs, she is not necessarily running against Obama. She also stands for conservatism: Free markets, no corporate and government collusion, strong defense, pro-life, pro-gun, states' rights.

Again, if you're looking for a Republican who is going to give you a laundry list of proposals and bullet points of what the government can do for you, then you might as well say hello to a 2nd Obama term. You don't understand that people are tired of Washington and want to be left alone. Palin will talk about the need to reduce government and everything else will work itself out. She doesn't need proposals or a big platform of promises.

Great List.

I’m really surprised that this thread is still going. Whether these are astroturfers or just sincere Republicans, I would like to offer a handful of anecdotes from Texas:

I was a reluctant McCain supporter until Palin entered the race. The same story was repeated throughout my circle of friends, here on FR and many other places I visit.

My 49 year old mother of 2 apolitical sister, donated and volunteered after listening to Sarah speak. This is the first election to my recollection where she really got involved outside of voting.

My college roommate’s wife ran as a sacrificial lamb in very blue Travis County (Austin). She lost since Austin is 2 to 1 liberals, but her support and interest skyrocketed after Palin was added to the ticket.

As a commentator wrote, Sarah has IT. She connects with the grassroots unlike anyone since Reagan. She is charismatic, sincere and more conservative than anything we have seen in years.

She may not run or may not get the nomination, but she is definitely our best hope as of this moment.

And for those suggesting she is not intelligent, please remove those freaking elitist glasses. I’ve seen all the ivy league pinheads in Washington I care to see in this lifetime. And if...uh...well...uh...hope....uh....change is considered intelligence, I’m glad Sarah doesn’t have any.

"Well, there are feminists and there are feminists. Is she a feminist like the Wyoming women who got the vote in the 19th century, or is she a sapphic, man-hating gender-fem, a "Feminazi"? "

Susan B. Anthony and her friends hated men, hated marriage, and were followers of Charles Fourier. They were dishonest and only sought to disrupt causes that they claimed to support. They described themselves as being progressive. The word was also used to describe the Quakers she came from.

Asked who you would support for President, and you can’t give one single name? Weren’t you one of those people who favored Obama over McCain in the last election?

Do you think attacking me will change the facts about Sarah Palin?

I’ll say this, we need someone with military experience because Obama is going to destroy the military.

Never heard of these guys. Sounds like a Wednesday afternoon group of Beltway bozos. Or Loggies. Are they Loggies? Republican Unity Coalition refugees?

And you say Sarah Palin is one of them? Can you demonstrate that?

Rush Limbaugh defended Palin and heralded her as the “most prominent and articulate voice” for conservatism.

AS Michael Reagan said re convention night:

Wednesday night I watched the Republican National Convention on television and there, before my very eyes, I saw my Dad reborn; only this time he’s a she.

In one blockbuster of a speech, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin resurrected my Dad’s indomitable spirit
