Sarah Palin Is The Future Of The GOP
Gather.com ^ | June 15, 2009 03:27 PM EDT

Posted on 06/16/2009 11:51:08 AM PDT by lewisglad

If the liberal loons would have just shut up after the election in 2008, perhaps Sarah Palin would have been forgotten, a mere footnote in history.

The problem is, the liberal loons just can't help themselves, and are genetically encoded to attack anyone with ideas they deem repellent.

If you're pro life, you're an superstitious idiot. If you're against homosexual marriages you're a evil bigot. If you dare to question global warming, you're a dupe for big business. If you own a gun and like to hunt you're a mindless barbarian.

We all know the predictable screed from the irrational leftist loons.

Sarah Palin reminds the progressive nutjobs of these things, and stands as a symbol for them to mobilize against, mock, and demean. Democrats have a long history of this, calling Ronald Reagan a cowboy, Bush 41 a secret spook, Quayle a dummy, and Bush 43 a boob.

Sarah Palin represents everything the goons on the left stand against.

When you add that to the fact she's smart, good looking, and has a deadly sense of humor-- well, you have the possibility the first female president of the USA could force the first black president of the USA out of office after one term.

Things had better go well for Obama in the next three years, because they will go swimmingly for Palin.

Palin has put together a deal with TransCanada, a pipeline building company, and Exxon, of the oil producing fame, to build a new pipeline from Alaska to the continental USA that will transport NATURAL gas.

I'm not sure many Americans yet realize, but natural gas is going to be a HUGE transitional fuel as we seek "independence from foreign oil supplies."

Natural gas is going to be a very large factor in fueling our cars, as well as our buildings, mainly because the USA has a very large reserve of natural gas at their disposal, and Palin has perfectly positioned herself to take advantage of this confluence of events.

This project ALONE will keep her in the news for the next few years, and I'm sure we can count on the leftist loons like David Letterman to keep her in the headlines as well.

Sarah Palin is the future of the GOP, if they know what's good for them.

No one person can or should be the future of the GOP! What if, God forbid, she died in an accident? Would the GOP be dead?

I am not a Palin fan but would vote for her (again) over Obama. I don’t think she is well informed or very smart. (”Not very smart” does not mean “stupid”.) It’s too early for conservatives to unite behind any one candidate. They all have a lot to prove.

The one part I'd disagree with is,

If the liberal loons would have just shut up after the election in 2008, perhaps Sarah Palin would have been forgotten, a mere footnote in history.

Being the previous VP candidate carries some weight. If you watched her campaign rallies I'd be worried if I were to run against her.

That being said we should all keep an open mind until the primaries are near. I even hear Joe Scarborough is thinking of a comeback. ROFL.

Story #10: “Ascendant” Dems Weary of Liberal Label
November 12, 2007

RUSH: From Politico.com today: “Hillary Rodham Clinton was asked this summer if she would describe herself as a ‘liberal.’ The Democratic front-runner shied away, saying the ‘word’ — noticeably not using the word — has taken on a connotation that ‘describes big government.’ ‘I prefer the word “progressive,”’ she said. It has a ‘real American meaning.’ Then she expanded the term to ‘modern progressive,’ and, finally, clarified that she was a ‘modern American progressive.’

...The way they are today, it means socialist, for crying out loud — and they’re all about protecting their real identities.

Good article. I would add she is not an East Coast/Washington insider either. There is a growing distrust of anyone who has lived in Washington for any length of time.

I like Conservative governors from red states. Also, anyone willing to promote domestic drilling and laugh at ALGORE’s global warming scam has my vote.

Gov. Palin is more informaed on National and International affairs than any of the others who think they will run for Pres.

She is actually working in these area.

She has been to the Middle East, She has a son fighting in Iraq.

Gov. Palin has the substance, she just finished the negotiations for the TransCanada and ExxonMobil Alaska Gas Pipeline Project.

Gov. Palin just had in her office the other week three Air Force Generals from Pacific Command re Missile defense on the N. Korea issue.

She has been pushing Missile defense with D.C.

AMEN!!

There’s also a huge difference in her skills as an interviewee since she doesn’t have the McCain handlers in the back of her mind. This is strikingly clear if you watch the interview with Matt Lauer from last week. She flattened him.

Very big difference from the Couric interviews and the reason is obvious.

Doesn't “progressive” imply a desire to see progress? In that sense, I think Palin is most definitely a “progressive”. The socialists have co-opted the word & twisted the meaning beyond recognition. They did the same with the label “liberal”; so that it means something completely different in the U.S., than it used to mean everywhere else.

Similarly, just because bitter, far-left, man-hating, lesbian, abortion-pushing harpies call themselves “feminists” doesn't mean that they own the word. Palin is an excellent role model for women — and a shining example of what women are capable of. She is the embodiment of true feminism.

How smart do you have to be to be president? I would attest that she has above average intelligence. She certainly is a good manager and deal maker as is proven by the work she has accomplished in Alaska. She has a high moral character, and she ‘walks it like she talks it’.

I am certain that she is not as technically as intelligent as Jimmy Carter, a nuclear engineer, but he was a disaster.
consequently I believe she is smarter that Obama, also a disaster. Joe Biden, and Nancy Pelosi are 2 & 3 in line for the presidency, between them they don't have the mental capacity of a flea.
So tell me how smart do you have to be to be a good manager, good delegator, and a good decision maker. All key to being a good president.

Lately, I've been getting this feeling that for one reason or another, many FReepers have a distrust of intelligence. I don't get it.

When I was growing up, everyone wanted their children to be smart, and it was a bragging right if your child was intelligent. Now, I'm getting these visions in my head of people saying things like, "Thank God Johnny isn't one of those smart kids. I just couldn't live with myself if we had intelligent offspring." It's confusing as hell.
