I completely agree. Many of the radical fems from the 60s era thought the highest goal was to get the “respect” they deserved from others. Very self-centered.
People who believe they are superior to others don't belong in politics. Actually, they don't fit in anywhere. When it comes to addressing people, myself included, it is the intent, and not the manner of address. Sometimes, I am called by my first name, full name, Mrs., Ms., Miss, or Ma'am. Clients also have called me Mom or Sister. Who cares, so long as they are respectful in their dialogue? I would have liked to see Brigadier General Michael Walsh, finish his discussion with her, using the word, Senator, but giving her a high class whomping!
and by extension the people in CA who continually vote her in.
“I think MD is on a par with a PhD. PhD stands for Doctor of Philosphy and MD stands for Doctor of Medicine. I believe they are equal in status.”
Not to get all “Nancy Pelosi” on you, but that is not correct. I had an MD aquaintance that was convinced the MD was the highest degree and would disparage mere PhD colleagues as his inferior. He had to eat crow when after being challenged to look into the subject found that in fact the PhD was the higher degree and the MD merely a professional certification. He was such an @zz.
Let’s compromise: SENora Boxer
I’ll take your word for it. :)
I suppose you think it was easy writing all those bad checks during the House banking scandal. She got a very painful hand cramp and inky fingers.
...Good Ebonics might have been “yes, Senator Maamy”...
I knew a couple of those when we lived in Atlanta.
I suspect if what you speculate is true that the salutation of Madam would strike closer to home as there could be connotations of prostitution in which virtually all politicians indulge.
1) Make her request in private so as not to at least appear "petty", which she does now!
2) Let it go. In the great scheme of things, titles are of such minor significance, except to small-minded people. Boxer just proved to the world what she really is, but probably doesn't even realize it.
I, too, cannot find anywhere, how she referred to the General. What did she call him?
Her insecurity and childishness are also evident.
She is, arguably the least intelligent person in the Congress; and this is easy to spot as well.
.
Ms. (I’m better than you) Boxer.

If “Ma’am” is good enough for the Queen of England, it ought to be good enough for that stupid, corrupt, dried-up, carpy, skank, Boxer.
She reminds me of a female Fonzie — she thinks she’s cool, but in reality, she’s an obnoxious idiot.
Hell would literally freeze over before I called that skank “Senator.”
The nerve of that...that...(even “woman” is too good for her)...that collection of Napoleonic cells! It’s a good thing the good General is a gentleman, because (as a woman), I’d have slapped her smug face.
Regards,
That was my thought too. This reeks of insecurity.
Typical ignorant liberal.
