She sent a portion of the U.S. legal code that says anyone over 18 years of age who refuses to answer “any of the questions” on the census can be fined up to $5,000.

Does it have to be truthful? Everyone should say they have 25 bathtubs and 0 bathrooms.

I have no intention of filling it out either. They get to know how many people live her, nothing more. Not names, NOTHING ELSE. If they aren’t local people that come to my door and they even remotely look like ACORN workers, I’m not even telling them how many people live here. They can fine me. The fine is small.

Not your verse but another one:

Apocalypse of St John 13:1 And I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten diadems, and upon his heads names of blasphemy. 2 And the beast, which I saw, was like to a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion. And the dragon gave him his own strength, and great power. 3 And I saw one of his heads as it were slain to death: and his death's wound was healed. And all the earth was in admiration after the beast. 4 And they adored the dragon, which gave power to the beast: and they adored the beast, saying: Who is like to the beast? and who shall be able to fight with him? 5 And there was given to him a mouth speaking great things, and blasphemies: and power was given to him to do two and forty months. 6 And he opened his mouth unto blasphemies against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. 7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them. And power was given him over every tribe, and people, and tongue, and nation. 8 And all that dwell upon the earth adored him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb, which was slain from the beginning of the world. 9 If any man have an ear, let him hear. 10 He that shall lead into captivity, shall go into captivity: he that shall kill by the sword, must be killed by the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints. 11 And I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns, like a lamb, and he spoke as a dragon. 12 And he executed all the power of the former beast in his sight; and he caused the earth, and them that dwell therein, to adore the first beast, whose wound to death was healed. 13 And he did great signs, so that he made also fire to come down from heaven unto the earth in the sight of men. 14 And he seduced them that dwell on the earth, for the signs, which were given him to do in the sight of the beast, saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make the image of the beast, which had the wound by the sword, and lived. 15 And it was given him to give life to the image of the beast, and that the image of the beast should speak; and should cause, that whosoever will not adore the image of the beast, should be slain. 16 And he shall make all, both little and great, rich and poor, freemen and bondmen, to have a character in their right hand, or on their foreheads. 17 And that no man might buy or sell, but he that hath the character, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. 18 Here is wisdom. He that hath understanding, let him count the number of the beast. For it is the number of a man: and the number of him is six hundred sixty-six.

I have previously indicated that if you take the original meanings of the words "Barack" and "Hussein" and "Obama" and put them together, they are the definition of the word: Lucifer.

"...we moved to St. Croix county and bought some acreage..."

Same here. Then eventually up one to Polk.

Pawlenty has seemed a mite soft to me in the past. But, perhaps because of presidential aspirations, he certainly is creating some conservative credentials with his handling of the current budget.

I know people that worked for the last census. I do know this. If you refuse to answer, they can ask your neighbors and get them to help them fill in the rest. Also if you don’t answer your door, they try to get the info from your neighbors.

Some of these questions are asinine.

About how much do you think this house and lot, apartment, or mobile home (and lot, if owned) would sell for if it were for sale?
Huh? How much do you think????? What if a person lives in an apartment, how the heck would that person know. What if the person is elderly and has owned her home for 50 years with no intention of selling? Is she to go hire and appraiser?

Does this person have serious difficulty walking or climbing stairs?
Does this person have difficulty dressing or bathing?
Because of a physical, mental, or emotional condition, does this person have difficulty doing errands alone such as visiting a doctor’s office or shopping?
How did this person usually get to work LAST WEEK?
How many people, including this person, usually rode to work in the car, truck, or van LAST WEEK?
What were this person’s most important activities or duties?

None of your d*** business.

The fine has indeed been increased to $5G...

______________
That ok. They can fine away all day long. I won’t pay it. I want them to take me to court and ACORN since that will be my reason for not doing it.

House Republican leaders said Thursday they’re ready to go to court against President Obama if he doesn’t scuttle his plan to move the census into the purview of the Oval Office, saying it’s an unconstitutional abuse of power.
_______________
That was February. The cowards caved didn’t they? Threatening and not following up on makes them look weaker than they are, if that’s even possible.

I got the long form last time and battled the Bureau endlessly when I refused to let them know how many toilets were in my house

Why?

Thanks for the link. That is a nice article about Pawlenty. If all the other Republican Govs that want to be prez will now try to out-conservative TimP, then that would be a win-win. Good for those states and a leadership notch in Gov Tim’s holster.

And if we can keep marvelous Michelle in the news, the GOP might be emboldened a bit. She won last time being who she is today - in a blue state.

Can we just send a 100.00 check back in with the form saving our government the time, expense and trouble of the follow-up?

(a) Whoever, being over eighteen years of age, refuses or willfully neglects, when requested by the Secretary, or by any other authorized officer or employee of the Department of Commerce or bureau or agency thereof acting under the instructions of the Secretary or authorized officer

Is the census still under the Department of Commerce or has it shifted to the White House? Seems to me if it's under the purview of the White House this law would be unenforceable.
