I had to look..........sanford is a REPUBLICAN governor......runaway governor.......this won’t be good.
Is his son LaMont missing, too? Or has he been in charge of the junkyard and state while he was gone?
Is it my imagination, or are things getting weirder every day? I mean, the man has had to fight for the right NOT to take the government money. Whatever kind of "persuasive" tactics the feds have been using to try to get him to take the stimulus funds, they seem to have taken a toll.

When ever I have seen him on TV speak, he seems unbalanced
in a deep way.

No, the governor provided the opportunity for his political enemies to take advantage of his apparently unwise decision.
The way this is being handled is providing opportunities for more of the same.
There may be a good reason for his actions, but nothing that has been reported so far even comes close to a good excuse, much less a reason.
Everything that has been reported in defense of it sounds like something written by political enemies, and that includes what his wife supposedly said.
Someone should have reminded him it was Father’s Day weekend, if he wasn’t aware of it. Not the best time to “get away from the children”, if that is an accurate quote from his wife.
I’ll admit to being somewhat of an ole “stick in the mud”, but I’m wondering why a get away with the family wouldn’t have been better. Mom and the kids could have enjoyed themselves while he was secluded away with his writing.
Like a soldier, the governor of any state should NEVER desert his post for days without telling someone or making arrangements.
This incident will forever be a blot on his reputation.
