Yes, Oberon. Hilarious. LOL!
So you don’t aggressively recruit people you know or meet in real life?
A good post.
Thanks.
Either "illiterates of faggots" or what else?
But considering your grammar, we can guess the illiterate part, at least.
Care to try again?
I wint to publick skool and my teechers mayde me feel reel good abowt myself and we learnt lots of stuf like gayes ar grate and its gonna get reel hot becuz of what Bush done and one time we even put condims on banananas and how is howme skool better than that Id like to kno.
That's funny coming from an arrogant public school advocate.
Had a friend concerned that his popular nephews were now being homeschooled. Finally, I told him what homeschoolers do and finished with asking him how much he enjoyed his public school experience. He never questioned me on homeschooling again.
What question? You asked no question in the post I responded to. Are you that illiterate yourself that you can't identify a question as opposed to a statement?
Had a friend of my daughter’s saying how lucky she was to be homeschooled and asked her gramma if she could also. Her gramma said she needed to socialize with other children, then probably noticing my look said something to her about it not being as easy since she was an only child.
My children “socialize” at church. As a matter of fact, you can’t stop them from socializing some times.
And the “big girls” they like to socialize with are EXCELLENT role models.
*Socialization* takes a little bit more effort for homeschool parents, because we have to actively get our kids out to do it.
It takes effort that apparently many people don’t want to exert.
bttt
I must be a “bitter” clinger to God, Guns and Homeschooling.
Sigh.
Tell us all how ALL public school kids are degenerates and how your little darlings are not.
Tell us, do. Enlighten all of us ditchdiggers.
I am an Assistant Scout Master for a Boy Scout troop - all the boys are homeschooled. We have a girl’s adjunct to the troop and have Adventurers for both. All the original scouts are now Eagles.
The group is very bright, very well mannered, and well socialized.
“2 Learn what the words “socialize” and “socialization” mean, and use the one you really mean instead of mixing them up the way you do now. Socializing means hanging out with other people for fun. Socialization means having acquired the skills necessary to do so successfully and pleasantly. If you’re talking to me and my kids, that means that we do in fact go outside now and then to visit the other human beings on the planet, and you can safely assume that we’ve got a decent grasp of both concepts. “
My standard response to this question is: “If I think, at some point, my boy needs the public school socialization experience, I’ll get some of my friends together and we’ll stand around and make fun of his nose, his clothing and whatever else occurs to us. Then we’ll beat him up and steal his lunch money.”
Shuts ‘em up every time.
“It is very likely that institutionalized kids are really being **afterschooled**. It is likely that the parents and the kid themselves who are doing the teaching in the home. The only thing the institutional school is doing is sending home a curriculum for the parents and child to follow.”
Yup. Most public school parents do not realize they are already homeschooling their kids during the 1-2 hours of homework that comes home every night. The teachers send the really stinky, tear-inducing schoolwork home for the parents and keep the fun parts for themselves.
My wife and I have actually gotten 3 families to adopt homeschooling after pointing out that in 3-4 hours a day, we finish all our school work. So an extra hour or two devoted to your kids every day accomplishes as much as public school (probably more) and everyone has a lot more fun.
And two jobs aren’t an excuse. Until my son was 9, both my wife and I worked and we still figured out how to work and homeschool. It wasn’t real easy. But way worth it.
I agree. The article is over the top. Who cares? We really don’t need a manifesto—especially an angry one like that. Tries to make homeschoolers into victims. Public school families are the victims and anyone who has homeschooled knows it.
