What you are not taking into account is this:

Currently she can be attacked both through the media and through job competence levels, both are being realized.

She as a sitting gov. has very little leverage to fight the smear campaign that has and will be continued to be waged on her not only on a persona level but a professional and political ones as well.

This onslaught would guarantee a non-start run. She has take the only hi-road she had available to her if she has the aspirations for higher office.

I am sure this decision was not a fly by night one and her pac money now can be used to boost her image rather than defend it.

Have heart my Freeper friends....this is the best news I have heard in days......Sarah is answering the call, and doing it the right way....

She will now be free to travel the country and speak to all comers....she cannot be accused of ignoring her job as govenor, which is totally fine for democrats but unacceptable to people with integrity....

Have heart and say your prayers to protect Sarah on her very dangerous journey.....

David Schuster should be more concerned that Sarah Palin’s political influence and clout has just begun.

As a high-profile conservative Governor who is in the top tier as presidential candidate for 2012, the local dems with help from the DNC have unmercifully lodged frivolous complaint after frivolous complaint against her, forcing her to defend herself which she has done successfully but causing her legal bills to skyrocket with no relief in sight especially ON A PALTRY GOVERNOR’S SALARY.

Now she will be able to earn millions on the pre-campaign circuit, pay her legal bills, neuter the attack dogs that caused her large legal bills, gain national press and increase her following.

There is no doubt this women is a fighter and the dems have just shot themselves in the foot by trying to drag her through their mudpatch. Because now she can come at them with guns blazing.

Brilliant decision.

She is not getting out of the kitchen, rather she is stepping into it with a vengeance.

Illinois Junior Senator Obama campaigned for the presidency through much of his actual term in office.

There is an old trick that goes like this: when your opponent is pushing their hardest, simply step aside and let them fall under their own weight.

Sarah stepped aside at just the right time; the msm was already trumping up "polls" that "some say" her popularity in Alaska was falling; the bogus "ethics" charges keep coming and are costing the state of Alaska a lot of taxpayer money to defend, even though they have all be proven to be without merit.

This action acually frees Sarah to say and do what it takes to be herself, without the risk of Alaska being drug through the media's septic tank. I think it was a noble, and righteous move on her part, and Alaskans should be highly appreciative to her for again sheilding the state.

Now, if she chooses the campaign trail and a run for office, she is free to BE SARAH...not a puppet of Juan McCain't, nor the GOP and will not have to worry about anything she says being twisted by the left and reflecting on Alaska.

I think this is a brilliant move, on her part. Hell, I'd say that even if she doesn't run...I would be mighty tired of my family being drug through the mud as much as the commiebama bunch have done since the campaign.

This woman has more guts than the entire democrat party put together. And the cool part is, they are all scared to death of her. I'll bet if she said "boo" the entire party would flinch in unison.

You go Sarah...you've got my support. We need to back her as much as we can...she may be our last chance to save this country.

A Sarah Palin freed from the restaints of her office and actively campaigning to oust Obama and his criminal csars is just what this country needs and what we have been waiting for!!!!!

...and it also frees Todd Palin to fly to New York to give David Letterman the far-overdue *ss-kicking he so richly deserves.

Shuster has hated Palin from the start... he’s got a personal ax to grind with her and he still acts as though he isn’t biased. What a jackass...
