SAN DIEGO, California, July 9, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The general counsel for the National Education Association (NEA), America's largest teacher's union, complained last week of the "conservative and right-wing bastards" that are "after" the NEA. At the same meeting, the NEA rejected a proposal that would have ceased their abortion advocacy, and went on record in support of same-sex "marriage."
"We are not paranoid, someone really is after us," said General Counsel Bob Chanin in an address to NEA affiliates on the occasion of his retirement.
"Why are these conservative and right-wing bastards picking on NEA and its affiliates? I will tell you why: it is the price we pay for success. NEA and its affiliates have been singled out because they are the most effective unions in the U.S."
Chanin also noted that, in his opinion, NEA's advocacy is "effective" "not because of our creative ideas, it is not because of the merit of our positions, it is not because we care about children, and it is not because we have a vision of a great public school for every child. NEA and its affiliates are effective advocates because we have power.
"And we have power because there are more than 3.2 million people who are willing to pay us hundreds of millions of dollars in dues each year because they believe that we are the union that can most effectively represent them."
Although the Obama administration is more friendly to the left-leaning NEA than the Bush administration was, lamented Chanin, "attacks by conservatives and right-wing troops will continue."
According to a Baptist Press (BP) report, NEA delegates at the July 1-6 meeting voted 69-31 to reject an amendment stating the union had "no position" on abortion, which would have invalidated a resolution professing the group's support for "family planning, including the right to reproductive freedom." While the NEA technically holds a "neutral" position on abortion, this amounts to promoting a women's ability to choose, an NEA member told BP.
Despite protests that the group's involvement in same-sex "marriage" was causing a loss in membership, delegates at the meeting adopted an action plan strengthening the NEA's support of homosexuality with a vow to support same-sex "marriage" or civil union legislation.
Specifically, the resolution stated the group would support the enactment of same-sex "marriage" laws, and fight both state and federal constitutional or statutory provisions defining marriage as between a man and a woman.
That's because they have a virtual monopoly and all they care about is perverting the minds of children.
There are some really really telling quotes in this. Everyone should read it and see what the NEA has to say about itself.
Let that be a badge of honor, then. Before conquering England, William the Conqueror was known as “William the Bastard”.

This is why, despite their problems, I say we should ignore the industrial unions and concentrate on the true ideologues in the teachers, government employees, and service unions.
Because we disagree with almost all of their positions on important issues, perhaps?
Taxpayers are your employers, NEA. And ‘Right Wing Bastards’ are some of the most productive in our society. Your organization is nothing but a bunch of looters considering the ‘product’ you have given us.
“NEA rejected a proposal that would have ceased their abortion advocacy, and went on record in support of same-sex “marriage.”
All of which is SO relevant to ensuring children learn mathematics, science, reading and writing.
The SOBs at the NEA are complaining about the right wing bastards? I think the protest too much.
Exactly! They are so effective at ruing the youth and wasting the taxpayer's money as they feather their own nest. NEA exemplifies all the worst of Unionism.
“NEA and its affiliates are effective advocates because we have power.”
What a dork. Effectiveness should be a metric regarding education, not how much power they have assembled. They are effective in using children’s education as a tool to get what they want, which is more power and control.
Have I said it already? This guy and his ilk are dorks.
Because, genius, the NEA is nothing about education (judging by results) and all about politics, greed and whining.
Need more reasons?
Quite frankly, I suspect most of the bastards are Democrats. After all, Democrat “family values” extoll single motherhood with children by multiple men none of whom teh single mother married.
Thanks for posting. Courtesy ping. Thanks for your work at Landmark exposing and going after the NEA.
It is interesting how it always comes around to one issue with these people. Absent the “right” to murder their unborn children, they feel unbearably repressed by a society they detest. And yet they wonder why we distrust them to teach values to our children.
“William the Bastard” circa 1024
“The International Criminal Gang of Bastards, led by Tony Blair and George Bush” circa 2003
“Karl Rove- Magnificent Bastard” 11/2000-11/2006
“Conservative and Right Wing Bastards, led by Jim Robinson and FreeRepublic.com” circa 2009
Bastards, getting the job done right for the past 1000 years.
The NEA- a bunch of left wing sissies!
Compared to the way the left treats the NRA, these bastards are getting a free ride.
Even though, the NRA has more members, NRA membership is voluntary, and parents have to choose to let the NRA educate their children.
We won’t stop coming after you until all of you communist union thugs are driven into the sea. ;-)
