The Daily Kos has a post up quoting MSNBC personality David Shuster's Twitter page stating his show will be covering the controversy over Free Republic and comments about Malia Obama:
@mikelord @thejoshuablog. We will cover this monday: http://bit.ly/3pqS7M. But follow @joetrippi for what can be done on-line. about 2 hours ago from web
The embedded link goes to the Vancouver Sun hit piece posted earlier to FR
Over at Twitter, the leftists are all in a hypocritical lather over FR.
David Shuster is on sometime mid-afternoon East Coast time Monday-Friday.
To commemorate this thread and the discussions, I think I’ll fix pancakes for breakfast, with lots of Aunt Jemima syrup on them! Yum
Honestly, if those were FReepers and not covert leftists making those comments a mea culpa is in order for some of those things. It will make defense of the things that are legit here easier in the long run.
Yes, that is astounding. Astoundingly passive. Apparently you don't care how the community you are a part of conducts itself and is viewed. I do. It's called "taking responsibility". You should try it. Instead of just walking away when you see something offensive being said by a fellow member of a community of which you are a member, you should have the courage to speak up. If you don't, you will be tarred as complicit.
I am ready to eat some now. However I don’t make them as well as my sons. Maybe I can con one of them into making me some lol.
It’s only a problem if anyone watches MSNBC. As far as I know, that rarely happens.
In fact, in a picture from 1981, I’d look pretty much exactly the same (except I had a t-shirt with the Adidas logo. I was a tomboy)
Were you with your parents at a G8 meeting and was your father president?
No, if I were, I obviously would have worn a full length burka. Duh.
The “peace” symbol is specifically an inverted, broken cross, and symbolizes the annihilation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is the most disgusting and offensive symbol on Earth.
And it’s how obama signs his name. He makes the O into that sign. He has signed it that way since college.
He’s obviously the anti-Christ.
I’m going to mix the batter up and store it in the fridge tonight for tomorrow morning. I have a little trick to put some peanut butter in the batter right before cooking ... gives them a really neat flavor!
Its amazing how society has changed. Secret Service undercover dressed in the latest fashion in order to fit in to their surroundings.
that guy was not SS, supposedly it’s her cousin. A freeloader tagging along with the rest of MO’s family as usual.
I NEVER, EVER, "take responsibility" for anyone else. You know, that's just soooo "Community Organizer"...so terribly, well....60's. No wonder you have such simpatico with the current occupants at 1600 Pennsylvania.
‘I raise Shih tzu dogs. I have a pack of 5 & they just love pancakes.’
Do the black ones (or mixed) enjoy pancakes more so than the others?
I must admit. I have enjoyed this thread. Posters (on the most part) have expressed their views and feelings without stooping to racism, name calling and vitriol.
See how easy it is to get your point across without old worn out stereotypes.
Then you have no cause for complaint when racist posts on FR are publicized in the media. You are one of those who create an atmosphere where such things are accepted.
I think you are a fly under the radar troll. You never miss a chance to degrade FR and stick up for them.
Thanks, I am going to try that.
If Palin’s kids are fair game so are Obama’s.
The only thin I have to say on the topic is as follow: It is a shame that the Obamas are using their delightful children as cheap, unsuspecting propaganda tools a la the the Kremlin/KGB of yore.
Considering that Obama was negotiating our, as well as Poland’s and Czeck’s, defense superiority away this past week, the t-shirt, that the Obama’s purchased for their delightful 11 year old daughter was obviously a political statement. From that POV, I do feel strongly about the Obamas purposefully using their child as a cheap political tool.
Krauthammer: Plumage - But At a Price (Obama is an idiot, and the world knows it)
‘It didnt take me long to filter posts WITHOUT bothering mods. Someone says something I find offensive, why, I do something astounding: I STOP READING THE POST.’
In the 1930’s good people did the same thing. Just turned their heads and stopped looking.
When they, again, turned their heads, millions of people were dead.
Like I said, you’re welcome to enjoy your passivity. And welcome to reap the consequences. There better be NO complaints from you when offensive posts here are publicized. If you’re not willing to complain here, you have no right to complain when it reverberates beyond here.
Ummmm Would you be upset if I were to say... your version of historical events is somewhat...errrr, skewed? And you analogy is utterly bizarre?
Ive never seen a 12 year FReeper get the ZOT. But that may change soon
Some of the best internet trolls are the older ones, the ones that fly under the radar. Longevity means nothing except you are a really good troll. There are actually forums on the internet that tell people how to be good trolls. Since saquin seems hell bent on trying to make FR look bad when it’s not, I have to wonder.
True, and a lot of people made excuses for the evil too pointing to what they called morally equivalent policies in Britain and the U.S. Kind of like what you’re doing.
‘To commemorate this thread and the discussions, I think Ill fix pancakes for breakfast, with lots of Aunt Jemima syrup on them! Yum’
Sorry! Only works for us black people. Won’t do a thing for your problems.
I find your sig line hilariously ironic. :-)
Yep. Now we're into "reaping consequences". No more pretending to take the high road, eh? No more phoney indignation at what you have determined to be "racist" dialog. Now we're down to the TRUE LEFTIST nitty gritty. "DO AS YOU ARE TOLD OR REAP THE CONSEQUENCES.
How very quaint minor league Bolsheviks are...
Using our freedoms to destroy us. Like the Communists and the Mafia.
‘Ummmm Would you be upset if I were to say... your version of historical events is somewhat...errrr, skewed? And you analogy is utterly bizarre?’
No. Neighbors to the camps (as they were forced to help with the burials) claimed that they did not know what was ‘going on’ next door to them.
It is what it is. We all have to live with the consequences of our actions. If your response to things that are offensive is to just walk away, that’s your prerogative. Personally, I find it cowardly. But you’re free to live your life as you want. As I said, we all bear the consequences or our actions.
Sorry, but the only Camp around here is a Boy Scout camp. And they seem perfectly safe. At least for the moment.
‘True, and a lot of people made excuses for the evil too pointing to what they called morally equivalent policies in Britain and the U.S. Kind of like what youre doing.’
Again I paraphrase
Evil will triumph if good people stand by and do nothing.
Ise wants my piece of the pie)
I guess you aren’t from the South right? I can assure you that many whites in small towns in the deep South talk just like that.
Are the Obamas from the South?
That’s true. Evil also gains a lot when self-appointed do gooders do more to pick at the faults of the good guys than they do the bad ones. That assumes that the nit pickers are actually do gooders and not working for the bad guys.
Indeed. We all DO bear the consequences of OUR own actions. My choice is to accept that FREE Americans have the right granted to them by our Constitution to openly express their views.
Obviously, we do not have that in common. But many thousands have given their lives for that principle, that belief.
Such a pity you find it cowardly.
did they ever cover the message boards Moveon had to take down because of all the anti-semitism???
I live in a small town in the South.
They may talk like that but they don’t write like that.
I’m still curious which part of the South the Obamas are from. Must be a regional dialect, right?
Your inaction speaks loud and clear. And inaction is a choice just as action is. You have to live with the consequences of your choice.
I hope they ask Sara Palin to comment on the appropriateness of commenting on ‘children’.
‘Thats true. Evil also gains a lot when self-appointed do gooders do more to pick at the faults of the good guys than they do the bad ones. That assumes that the nit pickers are actually do gooders and not working for the bad guys.’
Betta stay on my good side. I’m making pancakes tomorrow (well maybe next week) and you certainly don’t won’t me to list you as one of my problems.
Pancakes aren’t good for you. Besides I just had some waffles a few minutes ago.
Quinn doesn’t know anything about anything. Her only qualification is stealing another woman’s husband.
Sneaky trolls will sometimes pose as people who are genuinely interested in the topic before posting a message that undermines the discussion. This is common in political forums — a person with opposing views might pretend to be sympathetic to other members in the community while simultaneously posting messages and threads that criticize their point of view. For example, the troll might say, “I really like Politician X, but do you think she’s really strong on domestic policy?” The goal of this troll is to foment doubt within the community at large
You parachuted into this thread at post 748 to post THAT pearl of wisdom?
You need some pancakes, man.
