Twitter and Daily Kos | Saturday, July 11, 2009 | Kristinn

Posted on 07/11/2009 4:53:55 PM PDT by kristinn

The Daily Kos has a post up quoting MSNBC personality David Shuster's Twitter page stating his show will be covering the controversy over Free Republic and comments about Malia Obama:

@mikelord @thejoshuablog. We will cover this monday: http://bit.ly/3pqS7M. But follow @joetrippi for what can be done on-line. about 2 hours ago from web

The embedded link goes to the Vancouver Sun hit piece posted earlier to FR

Over at Twitter, the leftists are all in a hypocritical lather over FR.

David Shuster is on sometime mid-afternoon East Coast time Monday-Friday.

To commemorate this thread and the discussions, I think I’ll fix pancakes for breakfast, with lots of Aunt Jemima syrup on them! Yum

Honestly, if those were FReepers and not covert leftists making those comments a mea culpa is in order for some of those things. It will make defense of the things that are legit here easier in the long run.

Someone says something I find offensive, why, I do something astounding: I STOP READING THE POST.

Yes, that is astounding. Astoundingly passive. Apparently you don't care how the community you are a part of conducts itself and is viewed. I do. It's called "taking responsibility". You should try it. Instead of just walking away when you see something offensive being said by a fellow member of a community of which you are a member, you should have the courage to speak up. If you don't, you will be tarred as complicit.

It’s only a problem if anyone watches MSNBC. As far as I know, that rarely happens.

In fact, in a picture from 1981, I’d look pretty much exactly the same (except I had a t-shirt with the Adidas logo. I was a tomboy)

The “peace” symbol is specifically an inverted, broken cross, and symbolizes the annihilation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is the most disgusting and offensive symbol on Earth.

And it’s how obama signs his name. He makes the O into that sign. He has signed it that way since college.

I’m going to mix the batter up and store it in the fridge tonight for tomorrow morning. I have a little trick to put some peanut butter in the batter right before cooking ... gives them a really neat flavor!

I NEVER, EVER, "take responsibility" for anyone else. You know, that's just soooo "Community Organizer"...so terribly, well....60's. No wonder you have such simpatico with the current occupants at 1600 Pennsylvania.

‘I raise Shih tzu dogs. I have a pack of 5 & they just love pancakes.’

Do the black ones (or mixed) enjoy pancakes more so than the others?

I must admit. I have enjoyed this thread. Posters (on the most part) have expressed their views and feelings without stooping to racism, name calling and vitriol.

See how easy it is to get your point across without old worn out stereotypes.

Then you have no cause for complaint when racist posts on FR are publicized in the media. You are one of those who create an atmosphere where such things are accepted.

I think you are a fly under the radar troll. You never miss a chance to degrade FR and stick up for them.

"You are one of those who create an atmosphere where such things are accepted." I beg to differ. I am one who believes free expression is an unalienable RIGHT grated by the Constitution of the United States. I understand YOU might find that uncomfortable. Being so into control, and all.

If Palin’s kids are fair game so are Obama’s.

The only thin I have to say on the topic is as follow: It is a shame that the Obamas are using their delightful children as cheap, unsuspecting propaganda tools a la the the Kremlin/KGB of yore.

Considering that Obama was negotiating our, as well as Poland’s and Czeck’s, defense superiority away this past week, the t-shirt, that the Obama’s purchased for their delightful 11 year old daughter was obviously a political statement. From that POV, I do feel strongly about the Obamas purposefully using their child as a cheap political tool.

‘It didn’t take me long to filter posts WITHOUT bothering mods. Someone says something I find offensive, why, I do something astounding: I STOP READING THE POST.’

In the 1930’s good people did the same thing. Just turned their heads and stopped looking.

When they, again, turned their heads, millions of people were dead.
