I think the economy is actually ready to rebound but for all the uncertainty about health care, cap and trade, union card check and tax increases. If congress could just go into hibernation for a year or so we could get a real recovery.

It will fail anyway. Obama’s plans are too socialist for the economy to succeed.

The news is actually that the enonomy is ALREADY falling apart.

One former president, Jimmuh Cahteh, is thrilled that zero is such a disaster as president. Now, instead of being the worst president in recent history, Jimmuh is next to last; just above zero.

Increasingly, I am coming to the conclusion that zero will be a one-term disaster and he may not complete his current term. Events appear to be building that he may either be impeached or outright overthrown; I’m not sure which.

I think zero knows it, too, that’s why he’s in such a hurry to get his marxist agenda in place. He knows it will take years to undo the damage he has done, barring an outright revolution to reset America and start anew.

I started burning wood last winter because the electric costs keep going up.

I can smell my carbon footprint through the whole valley now in the winter.

How bout disqualified for not being a natural born citizen? That would the most fun way of dispensing with the commie, but I will take impeachment and conviction, or landslide for Sarah in 2012.

What’s really scary here is the double-standard enacted by the Media: When Ronald Reagan ran up those deficits during his time in office the Media was all over him (and the Republicans) about that. Classic double-standard and “Do as I say, not as I Do” mentality...

Don’t worry, that will stop soon too. See, everytime you burn wood, it makes the specked sea fungus start to cry. Greenies just won’t stand for that.

“””I can smell my carbon footprint through the whole valley now in the winter””””

I got hold of a big cedar tree last year and spent three days chopping it up. Oh it smelled gooood burning....

If a carbon footprint has a nice smell, it shouldn't be taxed...

Hello, there, July 14, 2009 sign-up. Bush has his fair share of the blame, but Obama was in on this during the transition and now owns this economy.

“I think the economy is actually ready to rebound but for all the uncertainty about health care, cap and trade, union card check and tax increases. If congress could just go into hibernation for a year or so we could get a real recovery.”

These are all big issues for recovery. But the deficit is the looming monster. It will abort any recovery unless the world finds 1.2 trillion dollars a year to loan us for the next 10 years at interst rates that don’t abort the recovery (the alternative being big-time inflation).

Do you actually believe this?

Do you know that the Dems have been in control of Congress and the Senate for over 2 years?

That Congress originates spending bills?

That Obama and the current Congress passed a stimulus bill in addition to the budget?

How about that Obama has been in office 6 months and we are now in the longest recession in history? Unemployment up from 5% to 9.5% during the Obama administration?

That the last time we had this long a downturn there also was an activist Democratic President spending huge sums of money to “fix” the economy and get people working (FDR)?

Etc.

“Yes, the final Bush budget deficit , which you are referring to, will set a record. (like most of his previous budgets. ) Fortunately, projections are for the deficit to be much smaller in the first Obama budget for the fiscal year starting October 1, 2009.”

LOL. What are you smoking? W did not push a 1 trillion $ a year spending package thru congress falsely labeled as stimulus. The NEW spending Obama pushed thru is going to average just under a trillion dollars a year for ten years.

This isn’t to justify the Bush/Pelosi deficits, which were horrible and which I criticized at the time. But in the end, the Obama/Pelosi deficits make W look like an amateur.

I used to accuse W of spending like a drunken democrat—but that turned out to be deeply unfair to drunks.

Obama's plans are working. This is exactly what he has, and has, in mind for the free market and our free economy. He wants to bring it down and replace it with a command economy (ala Karl Marx) which he is going about doing.

If you are burning old trees, you are actually ‘helping’ the CO2 situation more than Gore et al. Dead trees add to the atmospheric CO2 as they rot and are consumed by termites, etc., so burning them instead of using electricity, coal, or oil is something the the anti-fossil-fuel warm-mongers should like.

Sorry the Bush fault chestnut is not going to fly much longer. Obama owned the deficit by signing the so called “Stimulus” bill. Should Bush remind congress to watch in how they spend yes, but he is no longer President.
