But, but, but, but that means he can’t teach Baptist Sunday school anymore. And he needs that for his P.R. image, doesn’t he? He’s too old to swing a hammer and crawl around houses under construction by Habitat for Humanity, so he needs the Sunday School gig all the more.

What’s Jimmuh going to do if he can’t teach Sunday School anymore? Episcopalians don’t have Sunday School.

I guess he’ll have to make do with Madrassa guest lectures.

After more than 60 years together, Jimmy Carter has announced himself at odds with the Southern Baptist Church

So he's been ok with it for 60 years and now he's seen the light?

the belief that women must be subjugated to the wishes of men excuses slavery, violence, forced prostitution, genital mutilation and national laws that omit rape as a crime.

I don't think any of the above follow from the Biblical notion that the husband is the head of the household who also has a duty to love his wife and childrens for whom he is responsible.

Baptists everywhere rejoice. You will never see him this critical of Islam.

Pray for America

Not to be a smart-alec, but I’ll wager that the Southern Baptists are relieved to be done with him. Most Baptists are big supporters of Israel, and it’s become apparent that Carter is a Judas to Israel.

Oh well - the SBC is FINALLY done with him.

What is going to do quit every couple of years? I know he’s done this once before and threatened over other things.

Jimmy should read the Bible before inserting his left-leaning foot in his mouth.

"...Husbands love your wives the way Christ loved the church."

Jimmah, have you ever read this part of the scripture quote? Do you recall what Christ did for the church? Isn't this more than enough to make up for the man having the final say-so in family policy matters? Shouldn't you, if you are really a follower of Jesus, be reminding people inside of your congregation of how deeply and truely husbands should love, care for and cherish their wives, rather than taking the easy way out and walking?

Why now? The Southern Baptists have banned women from being pastors for decades now. It’s been pretty clear for sometime that they weren’t going to change.

Surprised he didn’t leave over SBC support of Israel.

if one chooses different parts of God’s Word to exclude, then one is “doing exactly what he wants to do” - playing like he knows as much as God..

Carter and obamanation have a lot in common

I thought Jimma and Bubba began their own Baptist sect a couple of years ago.

I thought he had done that years ago and joined a progressive Baptist denomination.

Well, it can only improve the Southern Baptists.

Sounds like a variation of "You can't fire me, I quit".

The Southern Baptists probably suggested they hope the door doesn't hit him on the way out

Who cares what this prune-faced, leftist scum does?

He's a piece of insignicant human excrement!

Too bad he and Rozalind get a life-time pension!

I find it amazing he will praise Hamas but demonize Baptists.

Perhaps he really thinks baptists are the ones in burkas.
