Between the Eagles, Flyers and Phillies fans, they make the city look bad.
We must have a new law everytime our leaders see some new twist on criminal behavior.
Note to DHS lurker: Please notice I did not include that other guy. The non-American.
obamanation is working for him...Freedom in America is fleeing... now we have to pass a new law everytime someone does something that years ago, would not have happened nor been allowed.
Wasn’t there already a law against beating people to death? I guess since that didn’t work we have to pass another law, eh?
Stay tuned. That's going to happen Thursday.
They like to fight? I say rope off an area let em go at it.
I'm on your side. My complaint is the attitude of Philly sports fans (and I grew up in Boston, not the most stable sports environment.)
The commissioner is a moron.
People have been getting into bar fights since bars were invented. Millions of people have got involved in bar fights and few have been killed. It goes with the territory where alcohol is served to the public.
Making it automatically a crime is absurd, just because a single individual was unfortunately killed.
Self-control, brothers (and sisters). Not new laws.
I once had beer poured onto my head by a fan of a certain football team that shall remain nameless in order to avoid flame wars. Part of me wanted to deck the guy, but I refrained from doing so, even though I probably could have kicked his ass.
Reason #634 to stay here in Delaware County and stockpile more ammo...

Well, holy cow! I agree. We must have a law requiring bars to report fights that result in deaths caused by a spilled beer. The killer should be required to buy the bar a round and swab the spilled guts off the floor. And don’t eat the grapes rolling around the floor, them’s gouged out eyeballs.
I’m sorry for saying this, but the thought of Gates getting beaten up is bringing a smile to my face.
From my experience, three guesses:
The ‘City of Brotherly Love’ is anything but. They are an angry lot, who acts like idiots whether they win on lose.
Oh man, you haven't seen ANYTHING yet.
Agreed. I wore a Bruins jersey to a game at the Spectrum in 1981. I survived, with spit all over me.
I’m afraid you are right. desperate people do.....
She's just kidding, Mr. DHS Lurker. Just having a few laughs. Ha, ha. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.
Hear, hear. Just wait until the end of the year, when unemployment benefits have run out, people can’t run up their credit cards any more, can’t buy and don’t receive Christmas presents, and scrape just to heat their homes.
We’ve been buying ammo like there’s no tomorrow, but I’m beginning to wonder if I need to look into kevlar as well—like lining my door panels and rear seat with it.
Maybe we should send Gates some free Eagles tickets and a...Giants jersey, yeah, that’s the ticket (wink).
...Phillies fans, they make the city look bad
LOL! Are you crazy?
Philly is rotten to the core. - One Godforesaken cesspool.
Look bad? It is bad.
“they make the city look bad.”
The city IS bad.
The cops blatantly wait at the borders for suburban drivers to give tickets to, because the city residents don’t pay.
If you get a ticket in a distal corner of Philly, you have to drive 10 miles to traffic court where there is no parking, where you will be told the judge isn’t holding court, then they will take your info and a card imprint, fine you without your appearance, maybe tell you maybe not, F up your credit, put out warrants, impound your car, possibly just assault you because you are white, etc.
Philadelphia should be gassed. Only idiots live there, only idiots shop there, only idiots work there, only idiots have businesses there, only idiots drive through there.
The sole purpose for the suburban police is to scare the Philly criminals away. The suburban cops HAVE TO stop cars full of city dwellers, otherwise they would come out in hoards.
Well, you take a cop (Crowley), a liberally educated, racist, black man ( Gates), an egocentric megalomaniac with delusions of grandeur (0bama), and get them together. Now mix in "a few beers" while the talk over their disagreements.
What could go wrong?? ;^)
“They are an angry lot, who acts like idiots whether they win on lose. “
He said Philly, not L.A. or Detroit. At least Philly builds court houses right in the stadiums.
That means the intention of handling crime is there and after all isn’t that what really counts? Intention?
Sodom and Gomorrah
LOL! That’s so true about the suburban cops. As for the city, I’ve turned down jobs with a 25% raise simply because of the locals. I’ve told recruiters point-blank that under no circumstances will I take a job in the city limits. I never venture there anymore — although I’ve got a concealed-carry permit just in case.
Ammo? It’s holding our house down.
“The police commissioner has called for a city law
requiring bars to report fights to 911 following a fatal melee
sparked by a spilled beer at a pub next to the Philadelphia Phillies’ stadium”
So this liberal shithead cop wants a law to require bars
to report fatalities caused by spilled beers.
Philadelpia is more wierd than a whale in your bathtub.
This stupid cop needs to be hauled off to the asylum.
Are they saying that there's a loophole that lived on for *centuries* undetected?
or are they trying to cast behavioral norms into law (good luck with that!) Or are there more rights going down the tube (State Power forever increases)?
Doesn't matter -- the sheeple will buy it anyway.
I agree with you. But the behaviour of Philly sports fans over the past three decades has led to this.
Philly the only city that boo-ed and threw bottles at good old St. Nick. On national TV no less!
“Merry F-in Christmas, now get out of here you bum.”
Well, apparently it is. At least for liberals. And Philly is full of 'em.
Small comfort for the dead guy though.
Well, if their behavior over the past three decades was completely lawful, I guess all of us just have to accept the result.
If self-control is no longer any basis for behavior, we deserve the prison state growing around us.
I bet you could have too. Sounds like you were probably sober anyway.
great points Wind. it is all reaching the peak. damn near everything points to all hell breaking lose very soon unless something that I can’t even begin to imagine what, occurs.
I probably could have even if he’d been sober. *flexes her biceps* :-)
As for the other question, see post 20. :-) again.
We have to get out of this trend that anytime something bad happens, “we need a new law” to address it.
This is totally covered under existing laws, I am sure more than enough calls to 911 were made from the bar patrons anyway. It’s just ridiculous. All this kind of stupid law will do is fine the barowner if he or she forgets to make the call, and I’m sure they’d also make it so the liquor license goes away too.
Remember "Gizmo's Law" ? guy punts a dog and now there's a new law.
I'm not making light of the subjects but sh*t happens no matter how "omnipotent" our gub'mint likes to believe that it is.
I can see that as the agenda. There are only so many liquor licenses by law in most jurisdictions.
Get your facts straight. No one threw bottles at Santa Claus and the game wasn’t on national TV the incident happened in the late 60’s at Frankln Field. It wasn’t even noticed until Howard Cosell mentioned it as a throwaway line on a highlight show the next day. It was the last home game of a lousy year and all the fans were very angry at an inept management. In fact the “Santa” was a skinny guy they pulled out of the crowd at the last minute when the original halftime plans went array. “Santa” was also a 22 year old guy who had been drinking all day and who was playfully encouraging the snowballs and tossing some back at the crowd. In fact he, and the people there thought it was funny when it happened. There was no ill intent.
Look I’m not saying we Philly fans always do the right thing, but please let’s stop bringing up this overblown incident thatgets brought up everytime something happens at a Philly sports game
