Speaking of boats, apparently one of Stanley's Seattle friends mentioned that she had received a post card from Stanley on a boat in the summer of 1981. SHE LATER REATRACTED HER STATEMENT.

I believe that she is one of a handful of Stanley's acquaintances who later retracted something that they said about BHO. Sounds fishy to me.

I still have my Dad’s Royal - dates from the early 1900’s.

When I took my first typing test on an IBM Selectric, having learned on his Royal, I typed over 100 wpm as I didn’t have to PUSH the keys and had speed instead of key-force!!!

Ok - back to the topic of Kenya, which I’ve learned more about than I ever wanted to know, and frankly, forget anyone from Chicago, I’m thinking most Kenyans don’t know the history as presented on this thread.

It’s one of the things I love about Free Republic - I learn so much.

IF an honest judge ever allows a case to go into discovery, Eric Holder’s Justice Department will instantly seal it and take it over as a federal matter of national security. Not a single case is going to be allowed to come through discovery and reveal the truth to the American people. There are too many lies and fabrications in Barry’s past to allow truth to come out on him from a lowly court case.

The only reason Orley has petitioned the court is to establish a Chain of Possession between the origin of the documentation and it's appearance in court as evidence. Only documentation that has this criteria established are allowed to be presented in a court of law.

The problem is that Orly's motion doesn't say where she got this copy. So the chain of custody is already broken.

The document presented to the Court is also completely unauthenticated, and thus violates Rule 901(a) of the Federal Rules of Evidence. You cannot just go into federal court and say "this is a piece of paper and I want to conduct discovery to find out if it's genuine." There first has to be a showing of where the alleged copy came from sufficient to give the court a reasonable basis to conclude that it might be genuine.

My prediction (based on 31 years' experience practicing law in federal court) is that the court will reject it out of hand based on Orly's failure to present any evidence of where or how she got it.

That person won’t be safe until there is other evidence in hand authenticating the document such as the matching entry from the birth registry. Also, if I were in that person’s shoes, I would wait to see what the judge does with the case.

That certified copy would have an unbroken evidentiary chain.
