I'll take a 72 year old freshman as long as he's a conservative.

The words “Notre Dame” on a resume used to be impressive.

I have to wonder about someone running for Republicans who donates money to the Clintons.

Smart move, 1 term and he gets that Congressional Health Care for life instead of that death camp Obama Care we’ll be stuck with.

That would be absolutely AWESOME. I met Coach Holtz (and got to photograph him in his ND office) when my husband interviewed him for an article he was writing. Lou says the Rosary every single day and goes to daily Mass as well. He would do an incredible job. This is exciting!

He doesn’t have to be the best politician in the world, only the best politician in the race.

That is my congressional district, and I would definitely support Holtz if he ran.

He would easily best Suzanne Kosmas, who currently holds the seat....at least I think she does....for I do not know if she even shows up for her job. Yes, Kosmas a Democrat.

But her seat is safe, as the GOP really has no one of particular interest.

Not sure where exactly Holtz stands on issues....he has written a couple of books...and for a short man he can be tough as nails. My impression is that he is no liberal.

He can also raise money....not just on his “name” alone....but most successful college football coaches are involved in fund-raising for their athletic programs

Don’t be a spectator, don’t let life pass you by.

How you respond to the challenge in the second half will determine what you become after the game, whether you are a winner or a loser.

I can’t believe that God put us on this earth to be ordinary.

I never learn anything talking. I only learn things when I ask questions.

I think everyone should experience defeat at least once during their career. You learn a lot from it.

If he’s got golf clubs in his truck or a camper in his driveway, I don’t hire him.

If what you did yesterday seems big, you haven’t done anything today.

If you burn your neighbors house down, it doesn’t make your house look any better.

If you’re bored with life - you don’t get up every morning with a burning desire to do things - you don’t have enough goals.

In the successful organization, no detail is too small to escape close attention.

It is a fine thing to have ability, but the ability to discover ability in others is the true test.

It’s not the load that breaks you down, it’s the way you carry it.

Life is ten percent what happens to you and ninety percent how you respond to it.

Motivation is simple. You eliminate those who are not motivated.

No one has ever drowned in sweat.

Show me someone who has done something worthwhile, and I’ll show you someone who has overcome adversity.

The man who complains about the way the ball bounces is likely the one who dropped it.

You’ll never get ahead of anyone as long as you try to get even with him.

You’re never as good as everyone tells you when you win, and you’re never as bad as they say when you lose.

When all is said and done, more is said than done.

I’ve heard he’s a good guy.

You have heard right.

A friends brother worked for him as an assistant coach at ND, said Lou Holtz is not only a gentlemen, but always had the interests of his players at heart.

old friends. When he was coach at Arkansas, Holtz disciplined some players and the families sued him. Bill Clinton, as state AG, defended Holtz and they became friends, even though politically Holtz is Republican.

I wish he were in the running for Head Coach at Notre Dame, instead. :)

My son is a student at Notre Dame, and a member of the Band of the Fighting Irish. It would be nice to go to a game and see an Irish win, for a change.

Was that when Holtz suspended the three players before the Arkansas/Oklahoma game in the Orange Bowl?

I would reserve judgment until he states his position on the key issues.

You might just see that on October 24. If it weren’t for ND’s deal with NBC the BC game might not have been televised. Long season for my Eagles. Looooooooooooooooooooooong.
