For PA people, it seems that having a good day is voting in a socialist to office. Specter may be “too conservative” for PA.

Thank goodness he's a democrat now.

He was ALWAYS a democrat. Previously, he was just a RINO.

Thank goodness.

My understanding is that it is not mandatory, but the doc will get paid for having the “counseling session”. It still, imho, puts the patient in an uncomfortable position. What I don’t know is if this is something the doctor can initiate and charge on his own, or if it is only done at the patient’s request.

Arlen...you are selling a 1973 used Vega.

Hey! That was my first car! It had the aluminum engine block and steel oil pan. Differing heat expansion rates for the two metals meant that the pan would never seal and it leaked oil like a sieve. I considered using the chainsaw mix.

And why not? The little 4 cylinder engine had about the same power as a chainsaw. They put an air conditioner on it; why? I don’t know. If I had the air on and stopped at a light, I had to put it in neutral and give it gas or the compressor would kill the engine.

You know, now that I think about it, government health care would perform a lot like a 1973 Vega, except we would pay Ferrari prices for it.

I believe that Congressman Jim Jordan truly "gets it." He's a strong and consistent conservative, and a fighter. He doesn't just vote right. He's young, but he's a leader.

I'm not sure we need to be dissing the few good guys out there who are fighting for us in Congress.

Seems counter-productive. JMHO......

Yes, you’re right. The doctor was very mild mannered, too, and did not scream or yell. But Scott is a career politician (30-some years). I live in NE Georgia, and this dominates the news here. The attendees were told that they COULD ask health care questions after the road issue was discussed. But then Scott acted Sooooo incensed when people actually did. The district became predominately Black after redistricting, so it is heavily Democrat. Yet the district includes some Conservatives, too. Hence the fireworks.

Everything, everywhere is Bush's fault.

I read that in the New York Times and heard in on CNN day after day after day for eight years.

When logic fails, blame Bush.

His words are now record. This will not go away now.

Yeah, thank goodness for YouTube & the internet. We live in an amazing age... The days of politicians using smoke & mirrors and B.S.ing their constituents is over.

Hey! That was my first car!

LOL, yeah, my first car was a '74 Vega. What a POS car...

The government has taken over GM, now they want to take over healthcare.

It's a valid concern. When you're a Dem (as Specter always has been), there's no accountability for what you say and do.

You can verbally opposed everything in the bill, vote for it, and it's no big deal.

To a leftist, words mean nothing.

That's why Specter feels like he can say what he did today and vote for the bill.

Nauseating.

LS, do you have any articles on the history of political discourse in the US? When I heard Specter talking about “no booing” I was stunned. I remember reading how violent it was during political debates during the founding of our country, but I would love to know some specifics.

Ditto that for prostate cancer! DH has always taken care of himself....looked/acted 10 years younger than his age...got regular checkups since he turned 50....then boom! Out of nowhere...prostate cancer. But what a wonderful system we have...that at age 65, he could have the best surgery, medical care/treatment...I don’t believe would have happened under Obamacare...they would have required him to take the least costly medical treatment, which may not have been the best treatment...

"This animal, Madoff and Chuck Manson should be put in the same steel cage with some mid-evil weaponry. "

Manson probably has more money in his bank account than Madoff. Maybe Bernie could entice Charlie into a new Ponzi scam.

Fox News just interviewed that young lady. Stay at home mom, worried about her children’s future and did not want her children asking her years from now “Mom why didn’t you do anything?” She was there with her husband it is their Tenth Anniversary

A database would have to be beyond anything currently available to maintain so much data. It pretty much just isn’t possible.

The IRS is maintaining such a database on our income with programs that are probably 30 or 40 years old.

Is the End Of Life counseling mandatory or not?? My coworker a big Obama supporter says it’s a myth and is NOT mandatory. Anyone know if this is true or not??

One of Snarlen's questioners had a copy of that segment of the bill:

He said page 4?? of the bill dictates "compulsory Death With Dignity counseling".....every five years.

Specter is getting an earful.

[Am doubtful that it will do any good, however.]

The ear would have to be connected to a brain for it to have any effect.

Who are these peons that dare to question what the ruling class sees fit for them. Plebeians.
