CONDITION IS CRITICAL: LIBS FURY AS BAM EYES DITCHING GOV'T-RUN CARE
NY Post ^ | August 18, 2009 | CHARLES HURT and GEOFF EARLE

WASHINGTON -- Liberal supporters of President Obama were up in arms yesterday over signs from the White House that it was ready to pull the plug on a key aspect of its health-reform plan -- creation of a government-run insurance program.

"You really can't do health reform" without the so-called public option, said Howard Dean, former chairman of the Democratic National Committee and a medical doctor.

In a statement that cited strong House support for a government-run plan, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said, "A public option is the best option to lower costs, improve the quality of health care, ensure choice and expand coverage."

Sen. Russ Feingold (D-Wis.) said, "Opposing the public plan is an endorsement of the status quo in this country that has left tens of millions of Americans uninsured or underinsured and put massive burdens on employers."

Over the weekend, Obama dismissed the necessity of the public option, and Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius indicated that the White House was likely to drop its insistence on the measure, which would create a government-run health-insurance agency to provide coverage to millions of Americans.

The White House insisted yesterday that there had been no change in the administration's support for a public option -- but the shift was clear to people across the political spectrum.

"Let's not say we're doing health reform without a public option," added Dean, reflecting sentiments of much of his party's left wing.

Democrats have said the public option would provide low-cost insurance to the uninsured and force private insurers to compete by lowering their fees.

Obama now says these competitive forces can come through other aspects of the health-reform proposals, such as privately run insurance co-ops.

I would predict that the MSM will report alot of liberal anger, so that Republicans will be lulled into thinking that the left is really upset about this. When it is really a scam, to slip in more government control by another name. They goofed calling it the “public option.” Now they have to package it differently, non-profit coops or something, to fake people out that they have changed course. I would say that our current “insurance” is so regulated that it is practically a public option now as far as control goes, without being paid for by taxes!

Non profit co-ops?

The Federal government backing the effort with the full faith and credit of the American taxpayer’s wallet will create new Fannie and Freddie slush funds to enrich the liberal activists.

The Government Run option is not off the table! It's still part of the plan! Read the following article.

It will never occur to this leftist morons that CIGNA, Aetna, The Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies and all the others keep each other in line through competition. Being able to offer lower rates increases subscribership.

This is beyond the ken of most democrats.

I was kinda smelling rope-a-dope a little myself.

I'm wondering if this strategy is to take a little of the heat off the subject since Michael Jackson headlines faded away faster than they anticipated (thank God).

Additionally, stripping off the major sore spot on this bill will give the already numbed public a sign of relief and they won't pay attention to the remaining garbage in the bill or the secret amendments added to it and passed at 3:00AM on a Tuesday night.

We will also have lib-tards standing up saying the republicans are simply being difficult, ie: "we dropped the portion you were complaining about, now your still complaining" in an effort to not only draw support from some people, but to discredit the "republicans" who oppose this garbage. The dim-witted liberals still don't realize how much opposition in the public comes from their own party and they will continue to dangerously call them "astroturn followers" and "nazis". becasue Fox News made them do it.

The Baby will scream
When you take away that thing
He had big plans for.

But with the Baby
It is most likely something
He’d stick up his nose.

What is afoot?

The rinos will come out after a few other cosmetic changes and announce that they have made changes that are significant and which allow them to “reluctantly” vote for the bill.

The sneaker is that the death clause is in the stimulus bill and is not needed in the health bill.

So again, the conservative public will get snookered by the likes of Lindsay Graham, Grassley, Snow, et al.

“You really can’t do health reform” without the so-called public option.” Dean is right. The feds can’t do health care reform, I prefer the more accurate health care takeover, unless they’re able to get the massive tax increase through on employers and the forced, we’ll tax you anyway, on the millions who make a decision not to buy health care.

The massive bloodletting for health care takeover will get the beast off the ground and result in a festering parasitic bureaucracy that will grow to unbelievable proportions.

This article lies like a rug. The ‘public option’ would’ve been mostly used by illegal aliens. They never seem to mention that part do they?
