I don’t have the first problem with having an ethical and moral obligation to look out for my fellow man. I just don’t care for it to be a legal obligation.
I don’t mind looking out for my fellow man - that’s what Christians do. But the central government is a whole different thing and should not be involved in this in any way. The all-powerful, all-encompasing government is not what Christianity is all about. That’s why Our Lord told us to render unto Caesar what was his...obviously, something pretty limited, such as the coin He was holding at that moment...and unto God what was God’s due (that is, the rest of our lives).
“I dont have the first problem with having an ethical and moral obligation to look out for my fellow man.”
Exactly. Charity is an INDIVIDUAL’S moral responsibility-and one cannot fob it off on any government.
So not only does his administration call us cowards, angry mobs and extremists, but liars too....and he wonders why he’s meeting resistance, even if it is for the first time in his adult lifetime.
Well it is a legal obligation and every payday we more than meet our ethical and moral obligation to society. We pay local, state, school and federal taxes. We entrust this money to the government to spend it wisely and in our best interest, as well as the interest of the less fortunate. If government followed that code they wouldn’t have to be asking for more. Our government should thank us for our sacrifices for our “fellow man,” instead we are accused of being guilty of sin. How dare this hateful, devisive president accuse hardworking Americans of sin.
