Don't news outlets often refer to 19-year-olds as children?
Not usually anymore.
Only when it fits their anti gun agendas
Marysecretary, thanks for the tagline reminder!
Cops don’t have a clue, do they. They won’t even release the names of the dead. Don’t they realize that the more info they release, the more clues and info they’ll get from the public?
Somewhere I thought I had seen the two injured referred to as children, but as close-mouthed as the police have been about this, I probably heard it in community gossip instead.
Whether they are referred to as “teens” or “adults” does seem to depend upon the agenda being pushed at the time.
The police aren’t releasing the names of the dead, but at least half of them have been identified by the family and the media already, and I’m sure that those in the area know the names of the rest of them.
Trying to remember who else is in southeast Georgia. I’m getting a little bit concerned about the idea of them not having a clue who did this.
Only when it’s military volunteers
From the looks of it, it’s a mixed race thing. Maybe they’re having trouble spelling the names or understanding what they’re saying.

I need to see that myself every day...thanks.
Hard to tell. Yesterday they were showing the African-American woman who was screaming and said her son was one of the victims, but according to the article, she called the paper today and told them that her son wasn’t in the house and is alive and well. She did say that one of her brothers-in-law also lived at the house, but wouldn’t give his name. The boy they arrested looks white.
I can’t imagine that people in Brunswick wouldn’t be able to understand white or black people though.
I’ve heard speculation that these murders, as well as the two occurring in Brunswick the week before, were gang-related, but I have no way of knowing whether the person speculating had any sort of credibility or was just guessing.
Gang thing = Drug Thing????
Drug thing was my first guess. Again according to the articles, the mother of the man who was arrested supposedly died several years ago from a drug overdose, and other family members (but it didn’t specifically say the ones living in the trailer) have had drug problems.
Glynn County Police are struggling to, trying to solve a murder mystery, with national attention on them, without giving away too much information about what happened.
Doering also said in his interview, “I am absolutely certain, 100 percent, what happened. I am absolutely certain how it happened. The question is who is responsible. Part of that is the motive. What would motivate someone to do this.”
Guy Heinze Jr.. Heinze Jr. has been charged with possession of painkillers, marijuana, tampering with evidence, and making false statements to police.
Doering says Heinze Jr., who is an immediate family member to some of the victims, has been cooperating, but will not call him a suspect in the deaths.
Heinze Jr’s father Guy Heinze Sr. is the owner of the mobile home. But it has not been released if Heinze Sr. was one of the ones killed in the murders.
“I am not going to rule him (Heinze Jr.) out,” says Doering, “I am not going to call him a suspect.” I just can’t tell you with certainty if it was one two or more, I just don’t have the information. If I did, I would give it to you.”
Doering went on to say, “If I was looking for a suspect, I would tell you. We are not looking for any known suspects, it doesn’t mean there are no suspects, they are just not known to us.”

Capt. Marissa Tindale, head of the detectives division with the Glynn County Police Department, said Michael Toler, 19, died about noon Sunday. He had been listed in critical condition at a Savannah hospital.
A woman familiar with the family who also managed the trailer park where they lived said that Michael is the son of Russell “Rusty” Toler. That woman and a law enforcement source have told the Times-Union Rusty Toler is among the dead.
Toler’s three other children also died in the attack, the woman said. The Times-Union is not identifying the other children because their names have not been confirmed.
Heinze, 22, is the son of slaying victim Guy Heinze Sr., said the elder Heinze’s brother-in-law.
Guy Heinze Jr. is also charged with possession of a controlled substance (Darvacet) and possession of marijuana. Heinze called 911 about 8 a.m. on Saturday to report finding someone had killed his family at the rural mobile home park 10 miles north of Brunswick.
Heinze Sr. had been a long-haul trucker and often had several rigs sitting by the road, but business got bad, the trucks disappeared and the elder Heinze moved into the mobile at at New Hope, Trutt said.
McIntosh County Chief Deputy William Jennings said the Sheriff’s Office had an open file on a complaint Heinze made against the owner of the park.
Because Heinze had gotten behind on his rent payments for his lot, the owner apparently took possession of the mobile home and sold it to someone else, Jennings said.
Heinze found himself locked out of his own property and called the Sheriff’s Office, which investigated, Jennings said.
Glynn police chief warns, “We just don’t have a lot to go on,” in massacre probe
A woman familiar with the family and the mobile home park and a law enforcement source said the dead included Russell “Rusty” Toler, a hard-working, poor man who loved his children. The woman said three of Toler’s four children were also killed.
About 10 miles north in Eulonia, many of Rusty Toler’s extended family were gathered at the home of Elease Davis. A law enforcement officer described her as Rusty Toler’s former mother-in-law and grandmother of at least some of his children.
Two of the other dead were somehow part of the same family, while another victim was the boyfriend of one of Toler’s daughters killed in the attack, the woman said.
Bryant, 51, of Illinois, said Guy Heinze Sr. was one of nine siblings born in the Chicago area. He said they were all given up for adoption and several lived troubled lives that included drug abuse. Bryant said Guy Heinze Sr.’s wife died a few years ago in Georgia of a drug overdose.
“The whole story is so troubling,” Bryant said of Heinze and his siblings. “The father never raised one of them.”
Bryant said he last saw Guy Heinze Sr. about 15 years ago and knew little about his son.
The woman who knows the family said among the dead is Toler’s daughter, Michelle. Glynn County school officials said Michelle Toler, 15, was enrolled in the eighth grade at Needwood Middle School near the trailer park. School Superintendent Howard Mann said he didn’t know Michelle’s fate, but he added the school will have grief counselors and support personnel available Monday for students and staff.
According to someone on a message board, there is still a three year old alive and survival chances are good. They aren’t sure if he can tell them anything though.
According to this source, the police have arrested a second man. Neither of the people arrested are strangers to the people murdered. One is a relative according to this source.
THIS IS FROM ANOTHER MESSAGE BOARD. NOTHING IS CONFIRMED.
Wonder how they died? Guns, Poison??
There are RUMORS that the murders are related to this murder for revenge...

I think they were shot according to another message board.
I had heard that the surviving child was 6 or 7, but I don’t know how accurate my information is. Had not heard about the 2nd arrest, but according to the reports so far, the Heinze man arrested is the son of one of the victims, and apparently the victims were Rusty Toler, his 4 children, his brother and sister, and a daughter’s boyfriend - it’s not clear who the 8th victim would be.
The pizza hut murder was directly across the street from the entrance to FLETC, the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center.
Supposedly they arrested someone in that case and in the other robbery case, but I haven’t heard any names.
Like I said, I’m not claiming to know ANYTHING, just repeating what is said somewhere else. You probably have as much correct information as anyone.
Law enforcement said that the bodies were so mangled they couldn’t tell what the cause of death was. Some neighbors said they didn’t hear anything, but at least one said someone kicked in the door and shot all of them.
As close together as the mobile homes are, and since the trailer where it happened apparently didn’t have air conditioning (picture of a box fan in an unscreened window) it does seem that someone would have heard gunshots. Of course, it looks to me like killing that many people would raise a ruckus, unless you could do it very quietly while they all slept?
Oh, I understand that...just adding what I’ve heard, which may or may not be accurate.
In fact, what I heard may be TOTALLY off, because I’d heard that both of those in the hospital were children under 12...and obviously the one who died was older.
Local TV news has police chief saying they have been called to the trailer in question before yesterday’s murders, but he won’t say why.
Definitely a lot of people...must have been miserable, too, because they apparently didn’t have any air conditioning.
Sounds as if your message board source is correct about the age of the surviving child.
Have you heard how they were killed yet?
I heard on Fox News, I believe, that they were maybe BEATEN instead of shot?!
I heard that the muzzle was right up against the head “point blank” for all of them. This made them look as if they had been beaten per the 911 call.
BTW, if you are really into this case, I don’t think there is a better place for crime news than the following:
http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?t=88303&page=9
What’s odd is that they aren’t even releasing the manner of death yet. Usually in shootings that’s the first thing released.
In the 911 call, Guy Heinze says they look like they’ve been beaten to death. The autopsy results should be completed, but the police chief isn’t releasing them yet.
I think it’s kind of interesting that he is in trouble for removing a shotgun from the trailer - I wonder if he knows who did it and wanted the gun either for protection or revenge, or if it’s the gun BunnySlippers heard was used point blank?
I still have trouble understanding how you could beat 9 people to death (or shoot them, for that matter) without someone in that trailer park hearing something - a scream, a shot, or something! - or without someone making a phone call or jumping out the window or something.
Bunny, thanks! That IS a good site!
