The head of the Protestant Churches is Jesus Christ; and fortunately, He has already conquered this world.
A time is coming, and has come, when you will be scattered, each to his own home. You will leave me all alone. Yet I am not alone, for my Father is with me. I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. (Matthew 16:32-33)
Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." (Deuteronomy 31:6)
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?" (Hebrews 13:5-6)
As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. "Tell us," they said, "...what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?"
Jesus answered: "Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains. Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come." (Matthew 24:3-14
Amen!
Rent the movie "Gangs of New York" for a part of the answer.
I didn’t like that movie because it didn’t ring true at all to me, for one thing I know enough about American history that I am never totally surprised by some event or reality that I know absolutely nothing about as I was by that movie, so I looked into it.
It was as phony as a pink three dollar bill.
Being in DC means you can’t serve God. Jesus said either this world or the next. DC is about making back door deals. I am sure these people are good people but it is hard for me to trust DC insiders is all I was saying.
The man was truly ahead of his time!
The govt then is not the govt now and has not been for some time.
Are you Mark Levin?
I think it would be completely appropriate that Carter, a Bible-Beating Baptist Bunko Artist, be prayed into eternity by two or three homosexual bishops (including one female) in full Episcopal High church regalia and with smells and bells.
True.
The point I was making about "Gangs of New York" was that real tensions were created when a flood of impoverished Catholic immigrants came into the U.S. from Ireland and Italy and were resisted by the more established Protestant English/Dutch descendants of the early settlers. Charles Dickens was one of the first major figures to visit and write about the Five Points area, which now lies under the Federal courthouse in lower Manhattan.
Of course much of the movie was fictional, but:
Though historian Tyler Anbinder has quibbles with Gangs of New York's Five Points, he gives the film points for overall accuracy. 'The overall theme of the movie Scorsese gets exactly right: When the Irish first came to America they were persecuted and they literally did have to fight for their fair share of what America had to offer,' Anbinder says. And as they say, it's only a movie. "Scorsese... wanted to make a dramatic statement, he didn't want to make a documentary." (from National Geographic News)

If that were as absolutely true as you have stated, there would be no hope for your life or anyone else's. There are a lot of believers in DC really working hard to hold back the flood of insanity coming from liberal policymakers. Some very conscientious religious people have made it their mission to go to DC to try to help. If such people weren't there, we might already be answering to the U.N. And DC certainly isn't the only region that evil tries to infiltrate.
You're right....and we are neither a moral or religious people as a whole, either. Just look at how believers these days are scorned and mocked as delusional.
