But he blows off the national day of prayer and still doesn’t attend a Christian church. Any doubt that this guy is a Moooslim? (Next - a minaret at the White House?)

There's is no way in *&^*^%% I'm going to watch him celebrate that holiday. So is he going to bring in the Rosh Hashana in three weeks, I think not.

Elections have consequences. I think a big a hint about where this man’s allegiances were was his name. The voters of this country are freaking clueless. None of this should come as a surprise.

I wonder if he will mention his Muslim upbringing, and then John McCain will rush the stage and say that it’s not fair to bring it up.

(An old joke, but a good one.)

Right, and he’ll broadcast it too.

Aw, that's nice. I noticed dubie’s comment and agree. It's a shame he couldn't pencil the National Day of Prayer in — cause afterall, we don't just pray for the religious right Christians, we pray for EVERYBODY in this country and those who run it. Shame he couldn't manage to join us. I'm feeling the snub more and more recently.

The dinner is an annual event, hosted by the current seated president. Former president George Bush hosted the traditional Ramadan dinner in 2007

Really? News to me that this ever went on. Why should any president celebrate any religious event with which they are not personally affiliated? People are touchy about religion; best to celebrate your own, and not comment on others.

The American people, in their stupidity to elect this unqualified inexperienced marxist-moslem empty suit, have the government they deserve.

Bush 43 held “iftar” events quite frequently during his 8 years in the White House

And Muslim military members go to do, gasp!, prayers at the White House during Ramandan 2006

As other FReepers have pointed out here... but Obama blows off the national day of prayer and still doesn’t attend a Christian church...

Oh, and there's this: 50,000 Muslims expected for Islamic prayer on Capitol Hill (Sept 25th, 2009)

Someone just pointed out to me he went to the Prayer Breakfast but he blew everything else off — searched and found this:

President Obama is distancing himself from the National Day of Prayer by nixing a formal early morning service and not attending a large Catholic prayer breakfast the next morning.

All Mr. Obama will do for the National Day of Prayer, which is Thursday, is sign a proclamation honoring the day, which originated in 1952 when Congress set aside the first Thursday in May for the observance.

For the past eight years, President George W. Bush invited selected Christian and Jewish leaders to the White House East Room, where he typically would give a short speech and several leaders offered prayers.

Obama White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Tuesday that the president is simply reverting back to pre-Bush administration practice

So I assume that was “reaching out”, and the twin towers dropped when, a week later? Sometimes you just have to accept the fact that people don’t like you.
