It kinda traumatized me, and never again will I go into the produce section of a supermarket in San Francisco. Yuck.

Playgirl is very classy and restrained compared to real gay porn, which is somwhat pedophilic and, ahem, peni-centric. Playgirl was known to be a men's magazine because it was formally looked into. Playgirl Mag was a chance for males that were not flamboyant to buy a magazine that offered a fig leaf.
I have a friend that was a career navy man who I suspected of being homosexual from almost our first meeting that bought (and kept purchasing) subscriptions for his wife who was not interested in it at all, he claimed it as a sort of permanent gag gift.
