Michigan's movie bonanza continues. The remake of "Red Dawn" began shooting Friday night in one area neighborhood, creating lots of buzz and excitement.

Who are the “Red” invaders in this version?
Red Dawn II, the invaision from within......
Obama’s “civilian” army overruns neighborhoods and brave patriotic citizens fight from within....
That’s what it would be if I wrote the script......
The Democratics.
I’m thinking more along the lines of...right-wing extremists from “red states” invading the peaceful, law-abiding, racially sensitive and diverse blue states.
This is 2009 Hollywood.
I’m sure the new version will be PC!
They’ll have black, gay and bisexual Wolverines. The leader of the Wolverines will most likely be a bisexual female, who get knocked up and has to find a Planned Parenthood clinic, where she converts totally to the Marist ideaology.
Patrick Swayze is already spinning over this.
Will they replace the guns with walkie-talkies or cellphones?
[Shades of revisionist E.T.]
it’s an important movie for our young to see, have them watch both movies........!
"Teabaggers" of course!
Can I bring my real weapon and be an extra?
Need some tactical training.........
Supposed to be the Chinese and Russians invading in the remake.
Gee, it would have been far more realistic if the enemy troops had been a mix of ACORN “organizers,” muslims (plenty of extras for that up there in MoTown) and Obama’s Brown Shirts.
Maybe they can recut it later...
I hate that term...
But I think that’s probably what they’ll go for. Just like they made the terrorists in “Sum of All Fears” into right-wing corporatists rather than Islamists, they’ll probably make the bad guys in this right wing as well.
this time, the bad guys will be nazi skinhead racist bitter Christian evilmongering teabaggers leading red state militia trying to takeover the blue states
maybe they will be casting senior citizens as paratroopers
short haired male white people encouraged to apply as extras
My guess is that the invaders will be the Town Hall protesters and Tea Party participants.
And the Wolverines will win the war, set up an ACORN office and receive free health care and government funding for life.
This heavy-on-special-effects movie filled with graphic violence, hundreds mowed down and huge explosions, will never match the original version. For a “B” movie, Red Dawn actually worked very well, with a nice message, and a cast that developed true chemistry. The kids really made you feel like they grew up together.
A new Red Dawn will be like a new Time Machine — a cornucopia of violent special effects and no movie to support it.
That said, if a miracle occurs and they actually try to include a plot, characters and dialogue, rather than subordinate all that to the special effects, it could be a great movie.
I know it will suck.
>>> Who are the Red invaders in this version? <<<<
You know, Red State conservatives, mobs who are clinging to their Bibles and guns, wee wee’d up by demagogues and talk show hosts.
They won’t get out of the way, they won’t stop talking, so it’s time to get in their face.
Dangerous radical right-wing mobs and bitter domestic terrorists.

I can just see it now.
Teenie boppers with cell phones running from tree to tree trying to hide from their pimps
Here is the plot line:
- The bad guys/invaders will now be the Red Chinese, who knocks off America in the first 20 pages, and gets help from those stinkin Russians later in the movie. The cause of the invasion? Oil, of course. There are hints that America is kinda to blame, too. In todays PC environment, thats not too much of a surprise.
- Our heroes: Jed is now a former Marine back from Iraq and Matt his high school star quarterback brother; Erica is now an Asian-American cheerleader; and Danny is the African-American star running back. Basically, all the original characters will return (including keeping the same names) but as different archetypes.
Probably white conservative middle class americans who work rather than vote for a living.
>>> For a B movie, Red Dawn actually worked very well, with a nice message <<<
That’s because it was written by John Milius, who is/was on the Board of the NRA and has written other movies like Apocalypse Now, Dirty Harry, Clear and Present Danger, Conan, etc.
“Who are the Red invaders in this version?
Community organizers from Chicago?”
SEIU!
Michigan’s movie bonanza continues.

Are you sure it isn’t going to be a comedy?
Talk about over the top. Like the news recently someone was opening a plant in Mich. that would employ around 100 workers, and it was a “huge step in turnig around the economy.”
The Comedian Joins the Fight in Red Dawn Remake
The Red Dawn remake is currently shooting under the direction of Dan Bradley, and stars future Thor Chris Hemsworth as the Iraqi War vet, Adrianne Palecki (Friday Night Lights) as his love interest, and Josh Peck as his little brother, a high school football star who, along with other high school kids, must flee into the mountains after the homeland is invaded by Russian and Chinese forces.
LLS
The Burmese. They’re coming for Rambo. They will infiltrate the military as cooks and do a synchro-serving of poisoned beef hash.
/heresy to remake the inimitable Red Dawn

If you want to film a movie about a post apocalyptic burned out hulk of a city Michigan’s your place.
"Red Dawn II" rally cry: Yes We Can for Obama!
Exactly what I was thinking. Just wait long enough and let this admin do what it’s doing and they just have to break out the cameras and start filming.
- Our heroes: Jed is now a former Marine back from Iraq and Matt his high school star quarterback brother; Erica is now an Asian-American cheerleader; and Danny is the African-American star running back. Basically, all the original characters will return (including keeping the same names) but as different archetypes.
Wolverines will now be HUSKIES!?
If they just rerelease the original, remastered, it would make more money than a watered-down, leftist version.
George Romero screenwriting/directing?
Think how much they would save on extras and special effects!
You’ll know it’s bad if the battle cry is “Yes We Can” instead of “Wolverines”.
***Im sure the new version will be PC!
Theyll have black, gay and bisexual Wolverines.***
The new heros and leaders will be Somali Muslims just back from Jihad training in Somalia!
Sarc/off
No, for today’s multicultural sensibilities, the yell will now be “¡Sí, se puede!”
Yep. Because there's a:
Smart, sensible Asian kid,
Funny, Wisecracking Gay Sterotype Guy,
Tough Black (or maybe PR/Latino) Girl,
Quiet White Girl (usually abused by her ultra-conservative father),
Skinny Genius Male Computer Geek,
Couple of cute cheerleader-type females who habitually run around naked,
Big Dumb (but goodhearted and PC) White Football Jock,
In every HS clique. Wasn't that the way yours was? Mine sure was. And every single one of the kids was in HS, but looked about 25, with impossibly good features and no acne.
I'll leave it to you to figure out which of the stereotypes I fit in the above scenario. :-)
Gee, a remake - what’ll they think of next?
Colonel, USAFR
So yeah...I'm serious.
What a crying shame...
“Who are the Red invaders in this version?”
Probably white, Christian, pro-life, anti-illegal immigration, gun-clinging veterans who hunt and eat meat.
