David Weigel heard Camille Paglia on NPR yesterday, where the author of Sexual Personae and UArts professor told a no doubt astonished latte-drinking audience that "there are legitimate questions about the documentation of Obama's birth certificate. I'm sorry, I've been following this closely from the start." Indeed she has; we noticed her railing on the topic as far back as November ("simple questions about the certificate were never resolved to my satisfaction"). Now that they've got a genuine intellectual on board, the birthers just need a popular entertainer to carry their message to the sheeple. Come on, Toby Keith, what are you waiting for?

It seems to escape attention that if the exhibited on the Internet CoLB is actually a genuine Hawaiian CoLB, then the Fukino statement is self-contradictory because the CoLB lists father as an African which makes Barry ineligible because he would not be what Fukino asserted, he woul dnot be a natural born citizen by the very definition Barry signed onto with the McCain Senate resolution! Yet the fool quisling, Clay Land, blythly repeats the talking points he’s been instructed to cite as reason to dismiss and Orly fails once again to practice law.

Camilie Paglia is a liberal, but not afraid to point out when a lib is “peeing on the carpet”. She had many critical things to say about the Clinton’s over the years.
With Paglia raising these questions...the ones who really look foolish are the neo-right (Ingraham, Coulter, Beck) who are smiting the Obama Birth question. I question everything these Obama Enablers say now...because they are aiding and abetting Obama’s quite probablt illegal holding of office

Paglia is definitely in a class by herself. A true intellectual despite liberal positions and some personal idiosyncrasies about which the less said the better.

Camille Paglia is a bit of a contrarian. She is brilliant, though, one of the few lefties I actually enjoy reading. I think the thing that keeps her in the lefty category is the fact that being a very “out” lesbian is part of her public person and she was considered somewhat of a gay activist (although she has criticisms for them, too).
Because Camille Paglia has a genuinely open mind, and she actually loves her country. Strange for a Democrat, I know, but true nonetheless.
Yes, I think that's why they're holding the line on this. But that's a classic criminal technique: get other people involved with you (even if it was just by ignoring obvious discrepancies, for example) and you've got built-in protection.
