The stunning, total defeat of ACORN
Washington Examiner ^ | 9/17/09 | Byron York

Posted on 09/17/2009 7:05:45 PM PDT by thought

The ACORN vote in the House is stunning news. Just 48 hours after Republican Leader John Boehner introduced the "Defund ACORN Act," the bill -- which most Republicans thought Democrats would do anything to block -- passed by a resounding 345-75 vote. It would never have made it to a vote had not the Democratic leadership decided to allow it, and the winning total included 172 Democrats. Yes, 172 House Democrats voted to totally cut off funding for an organization that has worked for years on behalf of Democrats nationwide.

Couple that with the 83-7 Senate vote to cut off housing funds to ACORN -- a number that included 50 Democrats -- and the votes signal the complete collapse of Democratic support for ACORN. The job is not anywhere near finished -- the Senate still has to consider a total-cutoff bill, introduced just today by Sen. Mike Johanns, and a conference committee has to come up with a final bill that President Obama signs. At any step of the way, Democrats might decide to resume defending ACORN or give it federal support by other means. But as of today there are on-the-record votes of large majorities of House and Senate Democrats in favor of cutting off funds for ACORN.

Although Republicans had long fought against ACORN, it is not an exaggeration to say that none of this would have happened now without the BigGovernment undercover videos. Democrats who in the past had reflexively supported ACORN ran for cover after seeing ACORN employees encouraging tax evasion and prostitution. The BigGovernment videos mark an important moment in the development of alternative media sources, and official Washington responded before most of the establishment press did. This is truly an extraordinary series of events.

The reason why the democrats want ACORN shutdown is hide all their involvement in the in organizaton.

Ironic, isn't it?

The librats do their best to hide details like what happens to the enablers and supporters of corrupt communist/nazi/socialist empires from the young ears in the public schools.....

The, "Useful Idiots," are the first ones to be destroyed.

If ACORN's members would have known this little bit of history, they might have chosen a different path.
They could have seen this coming.

Anything done to restore the perception if not the reality that our voting system is not rigged and full of fraud is good. Tarnishing ACORN is a good step, but American voting needs to be reformed towards some semblance of integrity. No one can put their faith in our system today. If you think so, I offer two words: Al Franken.

We need an undercover job, sting operation right now into the bowels of ACORN to get advance intel as to when and how they are going to morph and change into another organzation, who the leaders will be, how and where they will establish, and all other details so as to be able to draw the connections from the defeated ACORN and the new, improved ACORN, which will soon again be out there asking for funds.

Most dems couldn't care less about Salvadoran girls sold into slavery as long as it didn't interfere with acorn's illicit campaign favors. What is causing the dems to throw their trusted ally, acorn, under the bus is the fear that voters will recognize what we all know acorn has always been.

Now that the media has been forced to cover this criminal enterprise the dems can't bury acorn fast enough. Idiot acorn locals advising pimps is one thing, acorn execs advising presidents on how to steal national elections is something else.

JULY 15, 2003 : (SHADOW PARTY : AMERICA VOTES IS LAUNCHED -- See SEIU OFFICIAL GINA GLANTZ) America Votes is an umbrella group encompassing a national coalition of grassroots, get-out-the-vote organizations. It was formed on July 15, 2003 to help coordinate the activities of the growing number of non-profit groups that now constitute the Shadow Party. According to its Web site, America Votes now commands the political loyalty of “more than 20 million Americans in every state in the country,” through its 33 member organizations. ...
In describing the genesis of America Votes, The Texas Monthly  lists a cast of characters similar to those who attended [SIEU & Democrat operative Gina ] Glantz’s meeting [See NOV 6, 3003 ENTRY BELOW]– but with one puzzling addition: Jim Jordan. When the Shadow Party launched America Votes, Jordan was still John Kerry’s campaign manager. He was not fired from that job until November 9 – nearly four months later. If indeed Jordan helped launch America Votes while working as Kerry’s campaign manager, he violated FEC regulations, which bar coordination between campaign officials and independent political committees.[2]
The Texas Monthly  further reports that the group decided to appoint Cecile Richards – then deputy chief of staff for minority leader Nancy Pelosi – to head America Votes. “We wanted to find a way to bring progressive groups together for the election. … It was a monster coalition, and we universally agreed that Cecile was the best person to coordinate it,” said Ellen Malcolm. Richards’ primary job would be to keep the organization’s  thousands of activists from duplicating efforts and stepping on each others’ toes. “With  America Votes, we really have a way now to settle who is in which neighborhoods, who is taking which precincts,” Richards explains. “And the role of our state directors is to hold those folks accountable for what they said they'd do.” [3]----The Shadow Party: Part II Continued 2 By David Horowitz and Richard Poe FrontPageMagazine.com | October 7, 2004

George Soros’ son, Jonathan T. Soros, has donated $250,000 to America Votes. NOVEMBER 6, 2002 : (MCCAIN-FEINGOLD SOFT MONEY BAN TAKES EFFECT; SHORTLY THEREAFTER, DEMOCRAT SEIU OFFICIAL GINA GLANTZ CALLS A MEETING ABOUT FORMING "AMERICA VOTES," AN UMBRELLA GROUP --See SHADOW PARTY) The McCain-Feingold soft money ban took effect on November 6, 2002. Shortly thereafter, Democrat operative Gina Glantz called a meeting at the Washington restaurant BeDuCi’s.  Glantz was then an official for the leftwing government union SEIU. She later became a key strategist for the Howard Dean campaign.
According to The Wall Street Journal,  attendees at Glantz’s meeting included Clinton operative Harold Ickes; SEIU president Andrew Stern; Steven Rosenthal; Ellen Malcolm and Carl Pope. Glantz argued that the proliferating Democrat 527 committees needed a central command structure – an “umbrella group” – to avoid duplicating efforts and wasting money. Everyone liked her idea, but no donors stepped forward. Glantz’s idea for an umbrella group languished for the next eight months. ACORN will probably change its name (if it hasn’t already done so) & revive itself as a different organization. It will get right back to the “people’s struggle”, like the communist guerrillas that they are or Islamic terrorists that are waiting in the wings for the right moment to explode their suicide bomb.

Let them.

It wouldn't be hard for a FReeper or two to walk into the old ACORN offices, ask around about who used to occupy them, find their new location and perform yet another YouTube sting.

Digital videocameras are quite small and cheap these days. And easily concealable.

1) Sarah Palin - endures round the clock ridicule

Of course we'd have a system if we could get the government to take someone else's money to fund it.

The scandal is that the rats fund acorn with our money!

Not only do they get us to pay for it, they don't have to raise money themselves to pay for it.
