NRA Versus Mayors Against Illegal Guns

The NRA is asking mayors who are members of the Mayors Against Illegal Guns to resign from the group.

Lately the economy and health care have taken over the headlines across the country. But the issue of gun control may be front page news very soon as the fight is re-surfacing in cities like Tallahassee. The National Rifle Association is currently asking people to see if their mayor has joined the Mayors Against Illegal Guns organization... and if so, to ask him or her to resign from it. Former NRA president Marion Hammer has asked Tallahassee Mayor John Marks to resign from the group. "The organization doesn't really have anything to do with illegal guns. What they actually do is lobby against the rights of of law abiding gun owners," says Hammer. But Marks says - not true. He says illegal guns are connected to crime.. like recent shootings in Tallahassee - one where two men were shot to death during a party at a hotel and another where three people, including a FAMU football player, were shot after a football game.. and one suspect is 17 years old - too young to lawfully buy or own a handgun. "To keep illegal guns out of the hands of criminals and terrorists and that is the fundamental objective of this organization," says Marks. Marks says the American Hunters and Shooters Association supports the mayors group and sent out letters this week claiming "the NRA has been sending false information about what Mayors Against Illegal Guns stands for" and says "to take them head on." But Hammer insists the mayors group aims to strip gun rights and urges people to also ask Marks to leave the group.

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg founded Mayors Against Illegal Guns in 2006. It has more than 450 members. That includes 42 Florida mayors and six Georgia mayors. Marks and Valdosta's mayor John Fretti are among them.

This is almost too good to be true. Bloomboob's ego raises the last issue that the rats in Congress wants to deal with, the Second Amendment, except in an affirmative way. P.S. There's a short video at the source.

American Hunters and Shooters Association is an anti gun group just like the Mayors against Illegal Guns.

Their titles are as accurate as the Democratic Republic of Vietnam/

Here is your first problem - American Hunters and Shooters Association...

“AHSA bills itself as a more moderate, common-sense advocacy organization, founded to more effectively promote the gun-control efforts of the Brady Campaign.”

Rudy wanted two more months and he didn’t get it. Gloomberg went behind the backs of all 8 million people in the city and is running for a third term.

NOPE...he did it right out in the open and those like you who cared sat there with their mouths open in disbelief as NY City Council Speaker, Lesbo, Christine Quinn, rolled over for a man for the first time in her life.....

I don’t read newspapers and don’t know when and where any civic or town meetings are held. Heaven help Gloomberg if he ever has to face down the people of the city.

A false flag anti-gun group is supporting another false flag anti-gun group.

And we are surprised by this?

the American Hunters and Shooters Ass. is just that...an Ass.....rat politicians use it to show how down homey they are.....

for the life of me, how can anyone who believes in hunting or gun ownership ever belong to such a propaganda outfit....

and in the reverse, how can any member of such groups as the RMEF,Ducks Unlimited, etc ever ever vote Rat......rats are against all hunting no matter what dribble they pull out at election time...if they could do away with all guns and hunting without losing their seats, they would....or their heads....

I stopped reading any of the rags around here years ago. when Curtis and Kuby where on in the morning before they put that fossil Imus on in his stead, you got a broad view of what was going on including that travesty.

having moved to the LI burbs in ‘64 as a teenager I can’t vote there anyway, but it still pisses me off what that turd, Bloomers, did there.....
