Barack Obama: world leaders 'see me as a conservative [Kenya?]
telegraph UK ^ | 9/20/09 | Alex Spillius in Washington

President Barack Obama may be regarded as a Communist trying to nationalise health care by his fiercest detractors at home, but other world leaders see him as a conservative, he declared on Sunday.

Asked about the antipathy aroused by his stimulus bill, health reform plans, and takeover of ailing banks, the president revealed that the stinging domestic criticism has bemused other politicians whose politics are ostensibly to the Right of his.

"I can't tell you how many foreign leaders, who are heads of centre-right governments, say to me 'I don't understand why people would call you socialist, in my country you would be considered a conservative'," Mr Obama told CNN.

He refrained from naming names, but his leading centre-Right allies are Stephen Harper, the Canadian prime minister, who visited Washington last week, President Nicolas Sarkozy of France and Angela Merkel, the German Chancellor.

Mr Obama acknowledged that "yelling at politicians is as American as apple pie", but appealed for greater civility in the nation's political discourse. "It's important to remind ourselves we are all Americans who love this country," he said.

In angry scenes at town hall meetings and street protests, Mr Obama has been vilified as a communist, socialist or even a Nazi and a sinister supporter of euthanasia.

Jimmy Carter, the former president, and black Congressmen have said that racism has fuelled the hostility towards the first African American president.

But Mr Obama said the objections were rooted in opposition to "big government", not the colour of his skin, although he was sure that some people "don't like me because of race".

” “I can’t tell you how many foreign leaders, who are heads of centre-right governments, say to me ‘I don’t understand why people would call you socialist, in my country you would be considered a conservative’,” Mr Obama told CNN.”

Of course he can’t tell us...because it’s ZERO, just like he his.

And what is his admonition to ‘remind ourselves’ that we love our country?

I don’t need no stinkin’ reminder, you used a**wipe! And no reminder will aide you, because you don’t love this country.

Does anyone else notice how horribly patronizing he is? And how often he inserts, ‘I am the president’ or ‘As president of the United States’ etc.

I didn’t even watch the LIC [liar in chief] and am nauseous from reading a few transcripts.

“He’s Delusional!”

Not quite. Most the rest of the world is significantly to the left of us. In Europe the massive welfare state is the status quo. Anyone who would suggest dismantling the welfare state would be labeled an extremist. As far as I know no elected British Tories are in favor of abolishing the health service. Berry paying lip service to capitalism and pretending to be against gay marriage would lead most Europeans to consider him right of center (they believe what he says), their leftists openly admit they are socialists. The President of France whom many freepers are fond is no more conservative than Obama. (France is about the worst in Western Europe). I knew this Aussie online many years ago. He called the democrats (this was around 2001) “center, very center, maybe slightly right”.

Bill Clinton signed welfare reform so Europe considered him right of center.

It’s actually the populations of all the countries who’s “right” is on many issues on a par with or to the left of our left that are delusional. Anyone to the right of Cynthia McKinney won’t be labeled a lefty by most Europeans. What we would call the economic right is almost nonexistent in some countries and their regular old left is our crazy McKinney moonbat left or open communists like in Portugal.

“The left” party in Germany is the descendant of the ruling communist party of East Germany. (it finally merged with the craziest West German party a few years ago).

I took a British political survey once and it showed that 0.7% percent of takers were as pro-free market as me.

I don’t think Obama was hallucinating when he heard Sark or one his other “center right” CINO buddies tell him he’d be a conservative in their crappy country. Obama would actually fit in fine with the French “conservatives” (actually they are Gaulists.)

Look at those charts. That’s REALLY what a lot of people think. Obama and every EU government right of center. Including Spain and the tragedy called Portugal.

Obama’s goal is to move us to the European political spectrum where he technically is right of center. We must not let that happen.

Not delusional, its a PR trick, a communist walks around calling himself a "conservative", just like the communists walk around calling themselves "progressive".

I think you've identified it.

I think you’d find that he himself is much more aggressively left of center than most European leaders; it’s simply that the US is not left of center, so we are not as far along as, say, Spain, in enacting his plans. But it’s not because he himself is moderate in any way, and even Europeans I know are stunned at his wish to completely wrench apart and change our system. Their system gradually slipped into socialism over decades, whereas Obama has entered our generally non-socialist system and wants to make it socialist overnight, as well as making it a cult of personality that no European country has seen since about 70 years ago.

The person he reminds me of most, btw, is Zapatero, the Spanish PM. He is a radical leftist who hates the Church and is doing everything to crush opposition to his policies, particularly by demonizing the past and figures from the past. Obama is supposed to meet with him soon, presumably to compare notes.

The Community-Organizer-in-Chief occasionally sounds like a conservative or even a patriot, “malpractice tort reform”, if you listen to selected words he speaks. If you look at his actions though, obama is a centrist: always dead center between Hitler’s National Socialists and Stalin’s Soviet Socialists.

And I bet these same leaders said you were a brilliant, articulate, and even clean, leader. And they and their people support all you are trying to do.

More than anything, most leaders probably wonder how this stooge got elected.

The 0 can come out and nip this gutter slime “racism” talk in the bud by publicly rebuking Carter and the rest of the clown posse that is spewing this lie.

That 0 does not do come out and publicly rebuke the race baiters indicates he not only condones the accusation, he is in fact encouraging the accusers to keep making the blatantly fraudulent accusation.
