United States Arms Rights Enthusiasts Are Cutting Edge of American Freedom Movement
ExpertClick ^ | 20 September, 2009 | John M. Snyder

Posted on 09/21/2009 5:07:19 AM PDT by marktwain

"American firearm owners form the cutting edge of the modern freedom movement in the United States," gun rights expert John M. Snyder said here today.

A former National Rifle Association editor, Snyder is Public Affairs Director of the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, Treasurer of the Second Amendment Foundation, and Manager of Telum Associates, LL.C. Shotgun News last year named him the senior rights activist in Washington.

Snyder said the Senate's recent 68-30 vote allowing Amtrak passengers to transport handguns in their checked luggage may indicate that, "politicians are beginning to get the message. The American people are fed up with efforts at government control coming from Washington"

The Senate vote approved an amendment by Sen. Robin Vicker of Mississippi to a transportation appropriations bill. The underlying bill subsequently passed 73-25.

"The Senate action followed by a few days a protest march in Washington, D.C.," Snyder pointed out. "Estimates of crowd numbers voicing their opposition to big government ranged from the tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands up to two million. Many people carried signs proclaiming support for gun owners' rights. 'I'll keep my guns, freedom and money…you keep the change,' read a number of the placards.

"The march followed a series of public protests at congressional town hall meetings over the summer. As evidenced by Rasmussen Reports surveys of voters, people are fed up with a lot of Obama's policies"

"Gun owners never will forget that Obama named Eric Holder attorney general," Snyder continued, "that Holder proposed reinstitution of the failed Clinton era semiautomatic firearms ban, that Obama promotes Senate ratification of CIFTA, a treaty that would undercut Americans' Second Amendment rights, and that Obama nominated to the Supreme Court a justice who said she doesn't know if an individual has a right to self-defense or not.

"With mid-term elections less than 14 months away, Senators and Representatives should be getting the message that people oppose Obama's policies, and reject the proclamations of Obama's supporters in Congress and in the mainstream media"

They can unilaterally ram stuff through with 51 votes in the Senate and put the screws to the House, but vulnerable Congresscritters know that would be attaching an even bigger “kick me out in 2010” sign to their backs. Their fear of not being reelected is the only thing standing between freedom and tyranny.

DO not forget that we have 60 million armed patriots ready to stand to.Ameirca is ruled now by a leftist Junta, with a leader who intentionally obscures his place of birth and his Occidental College records ( as a foreign student from Indonesia.)

America has been hoodwinked, and it will not happen again. If the next election does not rid America of them, I am afraid we will be in for some very difficult times. Our politicians know this. And few of then will be re-elected as it stands right now.

Very true. And should Hussein and his congressional puppets turn 30 million illegals into voters prior to next year’s election, along with the voter fraud and intimidation tactics undoubtedly planned, those arms rights enthusiasts might well be called upon to reclaim our rights and liberty.

Should we all stand in front of the voting booths with our guns in our hands? Seems congress and prez. think it is okay.

If the next election does not get rid of them, and we finally get to the tyranny stage, then yes, the job will fall to the many patriots.

Look at it this way...If we do no tmake big strides in 2010, then does that mean we should let up one bit, just because a few of the numbmuts survived the upcoming purge???

Heck no...They certainly know that November 2010 is coming up faster than they care to realize it...And if some survive they need to know RIGHT NOW that this doesn’t mean anyone up there has any time to do what they are tenative to do now...

And as much as I admire the fact that we have millions of armed citizenry, that kind of bluster does nothing but inflame people for all the wrong reasons...Some people had better hope it doesn’t come to that because nobody will win that fight...We had better start keeping people angry and poised to do what needs to be done every single cotton-pickin’ time those polls open in your voting district!!!

So if I make some people angry because of that opinion, fine, prove me wrong...

The party needs to start putting candidates up that are conservative on the issues people going to the townhalls are all about...Or get the hell out of the way...Thats the kind of message we all need to be pounding into the forefront for those wishing to get our support...

We can do this, and do it the right way...

I agree, the right way is to keep up pressure on the pols to resist the hopeychangers or they will be voted out. Nobody wants it to come to an armed conflict, which would be a tragedy, as it was the last time.

However, just as with a nuclear arsenal, a well-regulated militia is necessary to the security of a free state. All they need to see is millions of riflemen honing their skills. There won't be a need to shoot anyone.

You are naive, but blessed. You have no idea YET, of what we are up against, IMHO.

There is no right way, only the way that works. This is the resaolve and technique of the Obama Junta enemy. Ours must equal it or exceed it.You will begin to see that very soon, as Obama's popularity plunges and America refuses to obey his edicts and false legislation.

In the best of worlds , Obama will resign, Nixon style.

Can we do that peacefully? I hope so, but people like the Obama Junta very rarely in history ever go peacefully. That is the sad fact.

And that IS exactly what “they” see now...We have been extremely effective...

With the exception of a few “loose cannons”, pardon the pun, the rabid gun controllers are not as effective because of all the other turmoil caused by the mainstream liberal statists and the agrenda they have prioritized...

The main thing is that we still have our guns...And it is very unlikely many of us will be expected to cough them up anytime soon...Notice I said expected...Not comply...

When the time comes to push back...We’ll know it...And it does us no good to get our panties in a wad for no reason...

We are better than that, and we are so much cooler about it, that we want the other side to be shocked and surprised when it happens...Not the other way around...

They do this because they are scared...We do it because we are right, and we are strong...

I refer you to post #11...

I respectfully question your expectation about President Obama resigning...

For what??? Why should he...IF you bring up the BC argument, I can empathize with that, I really do, but that expectation is a pipe dream, that is naive...But like I said I do understand that that may be an angle to exploit...I let others take on that behemoth...

I have better battles to fight against the peons in the rank and file between now and the state and local elections, and get everyone riled up for November of 2010...

That is the battle we all need to fight...And we are better prepared to do that, than go after a figurehead...

Candor7, we have them right where we need them...And not a shot will be fired...

I pray to God you are right.

If you are, it will be the first time in history that a national socialist Junta is denied power via election.

You have more faith in a free, fair election than I do.

I have quite a few years of experience in running election polls in my voting precinct...I am an election judge, so I see all sorts of funny things come and go when we open the polls every year...

Where some may not have that luxury of a civil polling place, we have equal representation in the polls in our district where the democrats play a role in the way things are run...And my democrat counterpart has known me since I was a little kid...And we have a great time when election day arrives...And there is a respect in regards to the folks, who are our nieghbors, to ensure that we do not have a concern about who or what they vote for, as long as they come to see us and vote...

No shinanigans...

I only wish it was this way everywhere...
