HOUSTON - Michael Garza's parents say they weren't sure who to believe, their 8-year-old son or his reading teacher Savonya Depland Haston.

After Michael calls the reading teacher "ma'am," Haston is heard on the tape replying "I'm not your ma'am. If I owned you, and you were my slave, I would beat you down."

On the tape, you hear her tell the class of 7 and 8-year-olds she could have charges filed against them and their parents for lying and violating her civil rights.
"When you lie on me, I have the right to an attorney, I have the right to file charges against you and your parents. I have the right to take you straight up to the top of the Grand Jury and the federal government and file charges against your parents and garnish whatever wages are in your houses; that's the law," the reading teacher is heard on the tape telling the classroom of second graders.
So what did the Houston Independent School District decide to do about Mrs.Haston?
Seriously, this is what happens we ass-kickings aren’t handed out in situations that deserve one.
Perhaps some irate parent could “gently” talk to this evil bitch face-to-face about the mental anguish their child has suffered.
“When you lie on me, I have the right to an attorney” With this statement she must be talking a civil suit, and she doesn’t have the right to an attorney in that case.
“I have the right to file charges against you and your parents” Lying in grade school is not illegal.
“I have the right to take you straight up to the top of the Grand Jury and the federal government” Lying in grade school is definitely not a federal felony offense.
“and garnish whatever wages are in your houses” Now we’re back to a civil suit?
So aside from how mean this was, they’re keeping a teacher who has absolutely no clue whatsoever how our legal system works. She seems to think the government is there to do whatever she wants for her. Must be a liberal.

If you have elderly family members currently residing in retirement homes, please check on their safety. Their caretakers may well be Obama voters and we have seen many abuses as of late, especially of those unable to defend themselves.
Go to a magazine rack and look at the US News profile on grad schools. The top-ranked education grad schools have average GRE scores several hundred points below engineering-school scores.
I do not know where this foolishness comes from. My sister is a liberal. She would be horrified at this story. And would be excellent back up for me if I was to take this teacher on.
This nutcase needs to undergo a psychiatric evaluation, preferably locked up in an institution.
So does the rest of this school board for allowing her to continue teaching.
She is a “minority” of a lighter persuasion, and with long white hair (for some reason).
