Attorney Orly Taitz files motion to withdraw as lawyer for Capt. Connie Rhodes
Columbus Ledger-Enquirer ^ | Sept. 28, 2009 | ALAN RIQUELMY

Posted on 09/28/2009 10:15:01 AM PDT by vikk

Attorney Orly Taitz, a national figure in the “birther” movement and lawyer for an Army captain who sought to stop her deployment to Iraq on arguments that President Barack Obama can’t legitimately hold office, has filed a motion to withdraw as the captain’s lawyer.

Taitz, who represents Capt. Connie Rhodes, filed her latest motion Saturday. It cites two court documents as reasons for withdrawing from the case — a Sept. 18 order from U.S. District Court Judge Clay Land threatening $10,000 in sanctions against Taitz and a letter purportedly signed by Connie Rhodes, which asks for Taitz to be removed as her attorney.

“In order to defend herself, the undersigned counsel will have to contest and potentially appeal any sanctions order in her own name alone, separately from the plaintiff, by offering and divulging what would normally constitute inadmissible and privileged attorney-client communications,” Taitz states. “The undersigned attorney will also offer evidence and call witnesses whose testimony will be adverse to her (former) client’s most recently stated position in this case.”

It appears, however, that Taitz didn’t sign her motion. Court records filed Monday state that the motion must be filed again because Taitz didn’t sign it.

She refiled the motion with signature (although she left off the Certificate of Service, and the original Certificate of Service did not include Rhodes).

Looks like the ACORN checks cleared over the weekend and their stooges are back at FR.

Orly needs to concentrate on the Judge Carter case and get someone to handle it and stay in the background. She also better NOT try to get Gary Kreep disqualified from the case.

haven’t confirmed it, but she’s apparently doing this so she can divulge what Connie Rhodes said to her under “privileged client-attorney communications” in order to deflect any sanctions against her.

No signature??? Does she have a paralegal? She must have delegated the task of filing the motion, and the person who typed it up failed to get the signature? Someone on the inside wants her to fail? So many possibilities as to why details are being overlooked.

Supposedly she has attorneys offering to help her or are helping her. It always seems to be somebody else fault with her.

Well, she can’t seem to leave this one case well enough alone.
If you talked to a lawyer and had a falling out with them, and they turned around and asked to divulge your conversations with them in a legal venue, would that seem kosher to you?

I think this motion will be the end of her career.

It is time for conservatives to distance themselves from the obviously unstable Dr.Orly Taitz. She has recently discredited herself with her near hysterical performance on MSNBC and this screed of hers is simply disreputable. She is a liability with which the conservative movement can no longer afford to be associated.

As for the birther movement itself, the issue of the legitimacy of Barack Obama's birth remains theoretically open. It is theoretically possible that his mother or grandmother filed an application falsely alleging a private birth at home in Honolulu which resulted in a Birth Certificate which purported a birth in Hawaii. This document in turn spawned a Certification of Live Birth and two newspaper announcements. All succeeding documents were automatically generated and all succeeding documents were as fraudulent as the initial application. All subsequent pronouncements by the officials of the state of Hawaii properly reflected that proper procedures were followed and correctly recited that the documents show a birth in Honolulu, Hawaii. Hence, garbage in, garbage out and all the garbage was turned out on automatic pilot. That, at any rate, it is the remaining scenario to show the Barack Obama is not a naturall born citizen of the United States.

On August 10 I posted as follows. Events have sadly borne out my assessment of Dr. Orly Taitz. I post it here for the benefit of those who might wish to reassess their reaction to that post in light of Dr. Tietz subsequent antics:

This scenario is theoretically possible but not likely. Far more likely is a simple explanation that Barack Obama received an ordinary birth certificate as is normally issued upon live birth in a Honolulu hospital. But that is only a likelihood. Therefore, I believe that we should maintain an open mind and a steadfast insistence that Obama produce the underlying documents which would settle the provenance of the Certificate of Live Birth.

Meanwhile, as a matter of our own survival is is time to say au revoir to Doctor Dr.Orly Taitz.

She does have a team helping her, I’ve read that in a previous article. The buck stops with her, and I’ve bit my tongue about my criticisms of her mistakes. Anyone with legal training (the team that’s helping her) would know to check for signatures etc.. The whole thing is weird.

Regardless, I want to know why obama is spending so much $$$...and what’s he got to hide.

There has to be a way for a lawyer to defend themselves against a charge of error by their client.

I presume this hearing would be in closed quarters, before the judge, who would also keep confidentiality.

In my opinion, a lot of hard work DIDN’T go into it — instead, it seemed people who had seen the results of previous hard work, tried to mimic the same result without really understanding what they were doing.

Thus apparently “debunking” a real document.

I say “apparently” because this article actually uses the words “purportedly signed”, which suggests the issue is not resolved.

Maybe Gary Kreep will do better in the Judge Carter case. Leo and TerriK are also making progress.

On line, and no training in actual court protocol, good grief. If all one wanted to do was write wills, that kind of “school” would make sense, but not for the kind of thing Orly is pursuing. But even that does not explain many of her repeated stupidities.
