Nearly $1 million in Homeland Security funding typically earmarked for fire departments has been awarded to ACORN, despite a clear signal from Congress that it intends to cut off federal funding to the embattled group, the Washington Times reported on Wednesday.
The grant to ACORN's Louisiana office became public on Oct. 2, less than three weeks after the House and Senate voted to cut off ACORN funding after employees were caught on video advising a fake prostitute and pimp on scams.

And just where is our Justice Department?
Now, that’s funny. I think soon we will be at the point that we will be wishing for Janet Reno to come back.
Who is responsible for this?
It’s like the inmates have gotten loose and are playing with the house light switches and plumbing.
” “Senator Vitter knows a lot more about prostitution rings than anyone here does, so we’ll defer to him on any matters pertaining to the videos attacking ACORN,” the statement read.”
_____________
Perhaps Vitter is not the Senator to spearhead this effort.
That statement says all anyone needs to know about ACORN. When an official statement contains a personal attack against a Senator, you know the end cannot be too far off.
Totally Classless.
ACORN? Fire prevention? Not happening, unless they get $1,500. for each installed smoke detector.
OTOH, what’s Homeland Security got to do with fire detectors?
Was it the -same- legislation? Or is it still in conference committee, in which case it still needs to be passed again by both houses.
If that has happened, has the President signed it? If not, then it is NOT law, and the old rules still apply, and ACORN could be issued a grant.
This may be another case of the Congress and Senate both being able to say, we passed legislation against funding ACORN..... sounds good, but is meaningless until the legislation is signed.
If this bullshit keeps going on much longer...rioting in the streets time may be the only option to make these damn politicians get the hell out or stand up for the majority! My tax money for a group who wants to tear apart my countries constitution?.....
