DURHAM The U.S. military is not just fighting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, Americas most renowned investigative journalist says.
The army is also in a war against the White House and they feel they have [President] Obama boxed in, Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter Seymour Hersh told several hundred people in Duke Universitys Page Auditorium on Tuesday night. They think hes weak and the wrong color. Yes, theres racism in the Pentagon. We may not like to think that, but its true and we all know it.
In a speech on Obamas foreign policy, Hersh, who uncovered the My Lai massacre during the Vietnam War and torture at Abu Ghraib prison during the Iraqi war, said many military leaders want Obama to fail.
A lot of people in the Pentagon would like to see him get into trouble, he said. By leaking information that the commanding officer in Afghanistan, Gen. Stanley McChrystal, says the war would be lost without an additional 40,000 American troops, top brass have put Obama in a no-win situation, Hersh contended.
If he gives them the extra troops theyre asking for, he loses politically, Hersh said. And if he doesnt give them the troops, he also loses politically.

Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter Seymour Hersh
Well, if Seymour Hersh said it, then it must be true and I really, really believe it.
What an utter load of crap.
By the way, which party is trying to take away the military vote?
Sounds like Hersh needs some time to himself, away from drugs and alcohol. But drugs and alcohol are some of his top “sources”.
“Hersh: Military Waging War With White House”
If only.
“They think hes weak and the wrong color. “
BS.
That's why Colin Powell never got any position of responsibility in the Pentagon.
“They think hes weak and the wrong color. “
Sorry only this part is BS: “...... the wrong color.”
He is a girly man however, just ask Larry Sinclair.
Not just a Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter. According to the article: “Americas most renowned investigative journalist”. Gag me.
If he gives them the extra troops theyre asking for, he loses politically, Hersh said. And if he doesnt give them the troops, he also loses politically.
So it MUST be racism!!
He loses politically either way....ain’t that a shame.
Hersh is not to be trusted.
Of course the Dems are trying to block military votes.
Military folks past and present vote FOR their country instead of international socialism.
Bob Woodward probably wouldn’t be happy with this charactarization of Seymour Hersh.
Hersh is a shill for the libs.
His batting average for accuracy is quite poor.
Sensationalistic nonsense that sends tingles up Chrissy’s legs.
The Pentagon and our military have more minorities than the general population. Hersh is talking through his hat again.
OK, serious question.
Say someone with designs to harm the United States won the presidency, or high office generally;
what would the job of the military be?
Sy Hersh, America’s most renowned investigative communist.
Say someone with designs to harm the United States won the presidency, or high office generally;

Well I swore an oath to protect and defend the U.S. Constitution. I did NOT swear an oath to protect and defend ANY office holder.
Hersh = Rantings from a paranoid lunatic.
The wrong color would be yellow.
Praying that our military lives up to its oath to defend us from enemies, foreign and domestic.
But he is the wrong color.... fact....
HE is RED, not soft commie pinko.
but biggar than that, RED, with Islamic allegiances.
The thing America has been against since day one!
Pulitzer Prize Winning Propagandist and Apologist
HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HIS SKIN COLOR! It has to do with the color of his panties!
Fauxbama is a neophite pansy, and everyone who’s actually manned up in their life sees it.
Hey Hersh, STUFF IT!
If Obama deploys the 40K troops to A’stan and we achieve stability and success in destroying the Talis and al quead, Obama wins a second term in a landslide and the GOP loses its most important talking point, nat’l security. Someone point this out to Hersh.
I don’t think Seymour understands the sentiment...the color that the military doesn’t agree to is red.
This is the constant drumbeat.
O was supposed to be the "transformative" figure who was post-racial.
As it turns out, he and his backers are the most race-obsessed people in the country. They answer every disagreement with charges of racism. Do you doubt the two trillion dollar flush? Racist. Do you doubt his military policy? Racist. Do you worry about a government takeover of the car industry? Racist. Government medical care? Racist.
Whatever you got, either you're with the O or you're with the Klan. Thats the choice. With Bush it was, choose freedom or choose the Taliban. With O its a rather more narrow choice. Its O or you're a racist.
guilty...where are my robes?
Hersh put on a 1hr+20min web-cam back in 2004 about the “quaimire” in Iraq and that we were going to lose. Looks like his comments are only designed to be political, not truth.
Writes for New Yorker Magazine. Libtard through and through.
has anyone asked Hirsch what happened to all the military attacks against Iran George Bush was planning to launch....the ones he went on and on about in New Yorker magazine????
What if he splits the difference and gives them half of the troops they wanted, but claims victory with the left by “denying” the Pentagon their “war”. I know, it’s absurd, but I can see this dumbass doing something like that.
The wrong color ‘Yellow’
LOL then who were the racists that leaked all that info during Bush’s Presidency? Information that made Bush look bad? ....
The left are a bunch of idiots.
Seymour Hersh is a POS
Any of you Artillerymen got a grid on that?
Thats it... a simoultanious shot on the grids of 200 congressmen, 40 Senators B4 Healthcare vote.
No Quorum of 219, no bill!
Keep in mind, members of the house must be elected by the people... they cannot be appointed.
Not a fight the White House wants to pick. Any Administration, any time.
There is the doctrine that the military is at all times subordinate to the highest civilian authority in this country, which is to say, the President. This was most famously tested when Truman fired General Douglas MacArthur during the height of the “police action” in Korea. MacArthur’s sin was to call for pursuit of the Red Chinese back across the Yalu River, and to secure ALL of Korea under one unified government, which would have probably set the policy for decades afterward. As it turned out, the Korean conflict resulted in agreeing to a “parity” with the Communist countries that were then overspreading the world, and failure to contain the Chinese to their own borders, almost certainly led to the floundering and uncertainty that overwhelmed Indo-China, and the establishment of client states under China hegemony on their southern borders.
Good to see Seymour's still an A*shat.
“Writes for New Yorker Magazine. Libtard through and through.”
Birds of a feather flock together.
They also flock in a supportive habitat.
New Yorker magazine uses a top hat for a common symbol. How revelatory of them.
Does every paragraph list his credentials?
I call him Seymour Butts...no clarification should be needed ; )
Easy to see why Mr. Hersh is a reporter, and not a strategist.
Does he possess (and utilize) the current year's model of Presidential knee pads?
Sure this the Herald-Sun and not The Onion or Scrappleface???
Inquiring minds need to know!
CA....
If he gives them the extra troops theyre asking for, he loses politically, Hersh said. And if he doesnt give them the troops, he also loses politically.
Didn’t Bush face similar dilemas? When the argument was whether to increase troops in Iraq, he had to choose between losing with those who were against (from all over the political spectrum, including some on the right (George Will, Bill Buckley, Pat Buchanan, Ron Paul, egs. IIRC) and losing with those who were in favor (primarily on the right).
Guess what? Being the president means making tough decisions, some of which will hurt you politically. Its called “leadership”. Hersh thinks if you ask a black president to exhibit leadership you’re a racist.
Come on now - he’s 1/2 white and 1/2 black. So I guess the blacks don’t like the white part and the whites don’t like the black part? Sounds like a real mess to me. It seems everyone is now a racist in Obamastan.

Come on now - hes 1/2 white and 1/2 black.
No guarantee of a harmonious outcome.
