A Riverside police officer was arrested on suspicion of robbing an auto parts store in Moreno Valley on Wednesday night, authorities said.

David Reeves Jr., 28, of Moreno Valley allegedly tried to rob an Auto Zone store at 23510 Sunnymead Blvd. about 9:03 p.m., according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Moreno Valley police detained Reeves one minute after store owners called police, authorities said.

Reeves joined the Riverside Police Department in 2001 as a cadet, said Sgt. Jaybee Brennan, a spokeswoman for the department. He was sworn in as a peace officer in 2002.

He was “separated” from his employment the day after the arrest occurred, Brennan said.

I find this story highly implausible, we all know that as soon as a human being is given a gun and a badge, they become angelic in nature, incapable of doing wrong. They are always right, just ask the FR boot lickers brigade. You should be ashamed for even questioning his actions, he has a hard job dangit. A hard job.

True.

It is a;so true by corollary from the other rabid nutcase group on these threads that there would never, ever be any law enforcement or legislative corruption of any sort anywhere in America if only drugs were legal.

While I won’t argue for the legalization drugs, I will argue that the “War on Drugs” has done more to erode and in some cases eliminate our god-given rights. And the things done in the name of the “War on Drugs” has allowed corruption to fester in law enforcement and legislative bodies. Forfeiture of property before being convicted of any crime comes to mind. As does No-Knock warrants performed by SWAT teams on innocent families at wrong addresses. Give me 10 minutes on Google and I will find you links to scores of news stories about that.
