An official with New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine's re-election campaign was arrested last night after cops found found ecstasy tablets wrapped and ready to be sold in his car, police said.

Jason Shih, 25, was pulled over by East Rutherford cops at about 11:30 p.m. last night because he was talking on his cell phone on Route 17, said Lt. Chris Conforti of the East Rutherford police.

Officers wound up finding 19 "blue star" ecstasy tablets in Shih’s car, each wrapped in its own little plastic bag.

A “Jason Shih” is listed online as a deputy assistant director of the campaign.

Assistant director to the Corzine campaign?

Woohoo!

And the earlier report said the Corzine campaign didn’t iow who he was????

Corzine spokeswoman Elisabeth Smith said Shih is not on the payroll of the campaign or the New Jersey Democratic State Committee, and that the campaign doesn't know who he is.

I guess it all depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is.

ACORN may now have to double its efforts to pull this one out.

Alleged Corzine quote upon hearing of the arrest: "Oh, Shih!"

Corzine staffer says “Shih is not on the payroll of the campaign or the New Jersey Democratic State Committee”

Once again it comes down to the definition of what “is” is. Perhaps Corzine should be asked if he “was” on the payroll.

“several tickets to tomorrow’s rally with President Obama at Newark’s Prudential Center were found in his car.”

So this explains the glassy-eyed euphoria at these rallies.

Possibly courting indecisive indies?

Maybe he needed the drugs to peddle attendance at the rally?

Star-Ledger just posted another article that says

“As he’s exiting the vehicle, he’s stating it’s not mine,’ Schanel said. ‘He just said I’m assistant deputy director of Gov. Corzine’s campaign, and they rented this vehicle for my use.”

Give poor Jason a break. He wasn't selling drugs, just giving them to ACORN and SEIU campaignworkers so they would hit the streets and buy a few votes with the drugs. Thats perfectly Kosher in national socialist Obamaland, ( and in Afghanistan too, where much to Carvel's chagrin, it hasn't worked for Abdhullah.)

Welcome to Obamaland. Jason is just the TIP of the iceberg. There are hundreds if not thousands of Jasons out there working for Obama, right in NY 23.

EAST RUTHERFORD — A Paramus man claiming to work for Gov. Jon Corzine’s reelection campaign was arrested Friday night on drug charges after police found Ecstasy tablets in his car, authorities said.

A Corzine spokeswoman said the man does not work for either the governor’s campaign or the Democratic State Committee.

Jason Shih, 25, was pulled over on Route 17 by East Rutherford police at about 11:30 p.m. last night for talking on his cell phone. Police found 19 Ecstasy tablets and hundreds of small glassine bags used for distributing drugs, police spokesman Capt. William Schanel said.

Schanel said Shih told police he was an official in Corzine’s campaign, and several tickets to tomorrow’s rally with President Obama at Newark’s Prudential Center were found in his car.

“As he’s exiting the vehicle, he’s stating it’s not mine,” Schanel said. “He just said I’m assistant deputy director of Gov. Corzine’s campaign, and they rented this vehicle for my use.”

Schanel said the vehicle was rented, but said it is unclear who rented it. He said Shih is not suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol — just very nervous.

“His hands were shaking,” Schanel said.

Jon-Corzine-speech.jpgFile photoGovernor Jon CorzineCorzine campaign spokeswoman Lis Smith said Shih’s claim is false.

“No one has ever heard of this guy,” she said.

Campaign finance records do not show any donations from Shih to political candidates in New Jersey.

Shih, released on $15,000 bail, is facing multiple drug-related charges, including possession of drugs, possession of drugs in a school zone, intent to distribute drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Shih could not be immediately reached for comment.

Republican candidate Chris Christie declined to comment on the arrest.

I'd say the bigger story, the "meta-narrative", is that two separate stories, from separate sources, have both been scrubbed in a short period of time. Either the story has been falsified, or someone is controlling the flow of information and trying to shape reality.

Yes, I have a screenshot of it. He's a young fellow, descent.

Chances are good this link will soon be broken:

Is he like someone airbrushed out of Stalin's photo albums? This news perhaps a little too inconvenient at this time for the Corzine campaign?

Not much of a scandal, but I think Christie will win on Tuesday.
A block vote by insulted fat people will make the RINO Governor of New Jersey.
Seriously, New Jerseyans hate Jon Corzine, and will demonstrate that on Tuesday.

Has this affected the polling?

What is the latest polling?

If he was listed as that title on Corzine's web site as has been stated, it should appear in the google cache and / or Archive.org's Wayback site. I'm seeing a lot of talk that he was listed as such, but I'd like a link if possible.

This guy may well have overstated his role with the campaign, but there is evidence that he did have a financial relationship with the DemocRat party:

Regardless of whether his guy is listed or not, there is NOTHING on the Wayback Machine for Corzine’s campaign site, yet it delivers history for other sites normally.

The chances that anyone (NJ Governor, Barack Obama) got the New York Post (owned by newscorp) to pull a negative story on their say-so alone are very slim. I’m a big conspiracy theory fan, but this one just doesn’t fly.

Yes, the article has since been pulled. But the graphic (screen grab that IS on FreeRepublic) after the link IS the "initial" article they had posted on their site. They had another one up in its place with some changes to reflect that the man arrested might NOT be connected to Corzine, but the Post then went ahead and pulled that post too.
