I just read on a NY-23 thread that Hoffman is down 4% with 74% of the votes tallied. But —— there are two precincts that won’t report until tomorrow, due to voting machine malfunctions.
It ain’t over yet, but this is definitely a squeaker.
Hoffman would have had it easy with the Scozzafava vote.
Well, adding Scuzzybutt’s numbers to Doug’s (per your report), would give him 51%, which would be less than a 2% margin win.
Still razor close.
Just watched Christie’s acceptance speech. Very good! I like him. DH and I switched over to CNN and MSNBC to see if they were carrying the speech, but to be honest, I was shocked to see that they were not. And they have the frickin nerve to say that Fox News is biased. Did we miss something? Was it on time-delay on Fox?
Bill Owens Dem. 54,736 49.0%
Doug Hoffman Con. 51,001 45.6
78% reporting.
Bill Owens Dem. 59,388 49.1%
Doug Hoffman Con. 55,002 45.4
86% reporting.
Yeah, our luck he’ll go in and help Geithner. All the Goldman Sachs buddies together again.
Salem County now in. Christie wins by 6%.
Da*m Owens wins the 23rd.
Some fraud and a lot of absentee ballots for Scuzz provided the margin of victory, but some districts and/or states are simply not meant to be conservative, even if they may be Republican...
Of course, Dede can’t even be called a “moderate” Republican and, thankfully, she is finished as a career Republican after the endorsement stunt that she pulled, which means that choosing her in first place was a real Charlie Foxtrot by NY GOP.
I'm sure that what Obama said to her on that phone call gave her the confidence to sell the Republican party down the river. Look for her to reappear as a Democrat, with her ticket already punched for a pass straight to the front of the chow line.
But, at least she's been outed, and we got Newt for a twofer. He may as well retire to grow roses or something, now. He's finished as a spokesman for the Republican right.
If you look at the whole picture then two things are very obvious from a GOP perspective.
1. Even without Hoffman then Dede did not stand a chance.
2. Without Dede then Hoffman would have most certainly won.
And from my perspective- Even Dede could have won then it would have been no victory for this country.
I hope that the conservatives continue to take the same stand. Maybe by 2010 then people will have had enough of what the democrats are dishing out.
Yes, it had to have been paid for.
Who knows how it would turn out had she stayed in the race (could have even been worse for Hoffman, can’t see Owens’ voters going for her), but she figured she was finished anyway, might as well cash in again with Democrats.
Either way, if NY GOP didn’t learn their lesson from this black eye, they never will.
Oh, I think the people have shown tonight where they stand on what the Democrats are doing to the country. The 2010 mid-terms are going to be a blood-bath for the Dems.
That is my county....we went RED!!!
WE DID IT JERSEY!!!!!
Aw c'mon. Be reasonable.
Had he won, we'd be shouting from the rooftops that Sarah made the difference, that Sarah proved a third party viability, that Sarah validated "conservatism wins every time" etc etc.
She took a risk for us all and we are all on the line for the result, for better or for worse.
Really, just over 1,000,000 people voted in a state that has nearly 9,000,000?
Congratulations!
Yeah, but 50,000 dead people voted, and that ain't bad.
