Sarah Palin says presidency "not on my radar screen"

CHICAGO (Reuters) - Sarah Palin said a run for the White House in 2012 is "not on my radar screen right now" as the Republican carefully did not close the door to a possible candidacy in an interview that launched her big book tour.

Palin spoke to TV talk show hostess Oprah Winfrey as she began the roll-out to her memoir, "Going Rogue: An American Life." Palin made clear she wanted to concentrate on the 2010 congressional elections in which Republicans hope to make inroads into Democratic majorities in the U.S. Congress.

"I'm concentrating on 2010 and making sure that we have issues to tackle," Palin said in the interview taped last week and broadcast on Monday. "I don't know what I'm going to be doing in 2012. (Running for president is) not on my radar screen right now."

The former Alaska governor and unsuccessful 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate, who is popular among many U.S. conservatives, has embarked on a campaign-style media tour to promote Tuesday's release of her book.

Her appearance on Winfrey's program, one of the most watched daytime shows on U.S. television, comes as political insiders watch her every move to see if she may launch a bid for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination.

rasmussen polls are pretty accurate and thats nice to see, but we need other polls to see a trend positively as well. I’ve seen Liberal throw out the number that she has 30% approval rating alot

She should definitly keep it ambigious so dear leader and his goons can’t turn attention from their screw-ups to her alleged misdeeds.

I think Sarah Palin should run regardless of her poll numbers. If she wants to promote her conservative ideas there is no better means than a presidential campaign. If she chooses not to run she will be ignored during the 2012 election cycle. At this point it would be pretty difficult for the media to not invite Sarah Palin to an important debate. Remember that the media used that strategy during the last presidential primary. Sarah needs to be in the debate in order to steer the debate to the right.

Even if she doesn’t run, I expect she will become the next Will Rodgers. I think the whole “McCain experience” really soured her to politics.

She remembers being a darling child in the media’s eyes for standing up to the corrupt RINO good ol’ boys republican network in Alaska. Then she was picked for VP and made the mistake of actually exciting the Conservative base, the media did not like and thusly a giant serrated knife was plunged into her back that the media now likes to twist with glee every few weeks to remind us how she left their plantation and how much they dislike her for being a genuine person.

If I were her I would be just as jaded.

We’ll we disagree. I see her as the conservative version of Obama, almost all image and very little substance.

The operative words, as always when a politician says that, being “right now”.

Somehow I expect she’ll actually start campaigning for 2012 at the right time.”

Yup.
Only a fool declares their intention to run for president, a full 3 years beforehand. She gave exactly the right answer.

Obama: I’m should not run for Presidency...
Obama: I can’t see running for Presidency...
Obama: I am not running for Vice President...
Palin: It’s not on my radar.
Hillary: I’m not seeking the Presidency...

Why do they even bother asking this question?

“Of course, she’s lying but then I suppose all polticians do that.”
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Eating lunch tomorrow is, “Not on my radar screen” and I am NOT lying! I don’t even own a radar screen. Such vague expressions are merely a way to avoid answering, it can’t be called lying. Lying is something like promising to complete a term as senator or governor if elected to it and then dropping out midterm to run for president.
