That is the cover of Newsweek???

An editor of a real news magazine would be embarrased. But I guess for Newsweek's editor it fits his adolescent prejudices just fine.

If you want Palin to be taken seriously, you must admire more than her pretty face.

She has nice legs too. ;-)

Agreed.
Which begs the question.. Why couldn’t Newsweak take their own damn pictures instead of using a photo from another publication.

I see Newsweak also put headline type over her Red Star Mom flag.

Seriously, would they take a picture of Obama or Biden on the beach shirtless and then place it on Newsweek,Time etc and discuss politic

A picture of Biden shirtless would belong on the cover of a Horror magazine for its "Zombies Among Us" special feature.

I was hoping for a laugh, or at least a chuckle, rather than a sigh. Or maybe even a rolling of the eyes.

Yeah, OK.

Her legs go all the way to .... the ground.

>>but as the cover of a so-called Hard News Magazine it is in excusable!<<

Except it is not on the cover of a “hard news magazine”. At least I have not seen it as such a magazine in over a decade. I literally read it for comic releaf when at a doctors office, etc...

I watched the interview - I heard almost nothing from the audience and then last night on Red Eye the host commented on the lack of response i.e. laughing, applause, by the audience.

The media did a really good job of destroying her image for the average American.

That said, I wish there had been some policy questions rather than the gossip of who did what to whom during the campaign.

>>Despite the fact that Sarah is not at all hard on the eyes, <<

She’s actually quite a bit prettier in real life than in any photos I’ve seen. But it is not her most significant quality.

Which is saying a lot.

This would be sexist on Newsweek cover.

Feminists take this sort of thing very seriously. Even conservative feminists. I have a great time with this phrase with women: “I respect you - as a woman.” They automatically think it is loaded and an insult. Yet men don’t think anything of the sort when you say to them, “I respect you - as a man.”

Thing is, her looks MATTER. You simply cannot get around it, so she should run with it.

At least she’s not blonde. ;)

But it’s fun. I’m serious about the comic relief statement. I don’t buy it, of course.

... a so-called Hard News Magazine ...

Newsweek is no longer a news magazine, but an opinion journal. They said so themselves.

As a subscriber, I’m surprised that Runner’s World got into this game by sending/selling her pic to Newsweek. Do they have the same owner?

If Sarah doesn’t like the photo being used, then why did she pose for it? She had to have signed a release. Otherwise, she’d be suing Newsweek.
