The Lafayette County Republican Central Committee is proudly celebrating a new crazy billboard on I-70 near Grain Valley. It calls for citizens to "starve the beast" and "vote out incumbents" -- and if that doesn't work, "PREPARE FOR WAR."

Wow! In my wife’s home county! I love it. Lexington is the county seat.
I remember in 1994 I was on a furlough in the States, and had driven to Lexington from my father-in-law’s farm to purchase a new Rugar 9mm.
I was quite early; nobody was in the courthouse square (where a cannon ball from the Civil War Battle of Lexington is still lodged in one of the collumns of the courthouse).
The only people I noticed at all was down the block in Hardies where they still came around and refilled coffee cups free.
I parked in the square and was reading. A man in grey Dickies came out all alone from the courthouse; the sun had barelly come up over the roofs of the the old Victorian houses. The man had a neatly folded US Flag and commenced to attach it to the flag pole ropes. He did it in a very solemn and respectful way-—it was obvious this was more than a task to him. As far as he knew at that moment, NOBODY was watching him, but he grabbed the ropes to raise the flag as if he had an audience.
I stepped out of my car and stood at attention, and put my ball cap over my heart. There was no anthem; all was still and quiet, except the Anthem playing in two men’s hearts.
When he had raised the flag, he took a few steps back and put his hand over his heart. About a minute went by. When he turned he noticed me, so I waved my ball cap at him and gave him a thumbs up. He returned the gesture and walked inside.
Besides the traditional farm families I know there, that is the way I remember Lafayette County.
That sign needs to be showing up all over the USA.
1. Starve the beast, keep your money;
2. Vote out the incumbents;
3. Repeat 1. and 2. as needed;
4. Failing the above, prepare for War.
God Bless those patriots! We need more like them...

We better get on the stick up here and add the first part.
I may be naive, but how exactly does one go about that? April 15 rolls around annualy, and if you don't pay, they put a lien on your house. Delay long enough and find yourself in court, facing property confiscation & prison time. If we ALL withhold, maybe it would work, and I suppose that would be the intention of the Billboard. In any case, they will just print more and borrow more.
I say skip to step 4.

Obama is much worse than Clinton.
You have it right; no president has ever been as far-left, anti-American, marxist, socialist/fascist as the current holder of that office.
Excellent post John, very moving.
Clean the slime out of the sewer that is the US Congress. Throw them out in 2010 and 2012.
Watch and report ALL voter fraud.
OH yeah. At least one per state.
If anyone tells you that the Declaration of Independence is not part of the law, you can tell them that it was codified as the very first statute passed by the first Congress.
The people have a lawful right to overthrow the government just as the Revolutionaries waged war against the British. Legally, nothing has changed.
It is good that signs like this exist but it is also chilling to consider Revolution. We must root out corruption in Government and vote out those in power. Republican RINOs, Lefty Democrats, Lillie Livered Independents etc... Toss out the lot and replace them with Citizen-Politicians, Reformers, who will really change things. My ideas I have posted before:
A) Start a new Conservative Party and get people elected to Congress, state houses and all under its reforming banner—I do not mean a Ross Perot/Ralph Nader spoiler party but one with real teeth. Maybe just use it to run against RINOs.
B) Start a Reform-Republican Movement within the GOP with a set of clear Conservative goals and talk people into supporting this movement with treasure, work, and running new dedicated people outside the political network.Call them the Reagan Brigade or Palin’s Pitchforks or what ever but show the world what they stand on. A New Contract with a America or a Conservative Manifesto.
C) Do both—A) to scare Republicans into change and B) to bring these changes about. It is most important to rid the ranks of the GOP of Liberal Lite RINOs. We must stick to reform and a clear cut, simple, platform and demands. We need new faces to run— Michael Reagan, Jon Voight, Barkley,Donald Trump (Funny hair and all) Liz Cheney, etc...
Living under tyranny is far worse.
I agree. I thought it would be appropriate and relevant to post the portion of the Declaration I did for this thread. Not so much here on Free Republic, but overall, there are quite a few American citizens who should read it, along with the Constitution and the Federalist Papers. The country would be a whole lot better off if they did.....and, sadly, I have absolutely no doubt that many would be reading those documents for the very first time....
