No Caliphate

Swiss Voters Display Rare Crusader Spirit

thelastcrusade.org

57 per cent of Swiss voters have said “enough is enough” to the Islamic takeover of their plot of the European landscape. In a vote that displeased the Swiss Government, fed up citizens approved a national ban on the construction of minarets.

"The initiative would appear to have been accepted, there is a positive trend. It is a huge surprise," said Swiss television said after polls closed at midday.

Ignoring Obama's Cairo declarations, the Swiss still prefer Lederhosen to burqas and turbans.

For the Swiss this is an entirely, logical decision and should not have come as a surprise. Sharia Law would get in the way of what the Swiss do best: making money by banking ill-gotten gains and lending them out at interest.

A nice bit of sanity by the Swiss and a welcomed change of direction for political correctness to contemplate. Could this be the beginning of a European trend?

In a recent televised debate, Ulrich Schlüer, an S.V.P. member of Parliament, said minarets were a symbol of “the political will to take power” and establish Sharia law. Switzerland, he said, already suffers from thousands of forced marriages and “we have a growing number of young Muslim women in Switzerland forced to endure genital mutilation.”

And of course.....

“That Switzerland, a country with a long tradition of religious tolerance and the provision of refuge to the persecuted, should have accepted such a grotesquely discriminatory proposal is shocking indeed,” David Diaz-Jogeix, Amnesty International’s deputy program director for Europe and Central Asia, said in a statement.

The way things are going in this world, I think the Swiss made a reasoned decision.

To hell with PCness. Hello new day...

My hat is off to the Swiss.

Where’s our national referendum? Actually I wouldn’t want a straight up or down vote on it, because that would open the door to a whole slew of leftist skulduggery by hard democratic rules. Mob rule...

Uh oh. How long will it take for the Swiss to get a fatwah calling for retaliation for this vote?

Thank God! The first, sort of, of many to come both in Europe and here, I predict.

OK, so now it is official. The US commander in chief and the head of the United States Army are now provably bigger pacifist wusses than the common people of neutral Switzerland.

Stick a fork in the west. It's done.

Ulrich Schlüer is completely wrong. The vote neither bans mosques nor Islam, nearly an architecture type. They’ll tolerate Muslims and Muslim worship, just not the minarets.
He’s a good dhimmi, though it’s bad for the rest of us.

When bells ring out loud and clear from Christian churches every sunday morning in muslim countries then I say, minarets should be accepted in Christian countries.

Hmm... why not Lederhosen and burqas over the Lederhosen?

Thank you for showing the rest of us, who still wish to stand up and fight for western civilization, where you stand.

Seeing how you've thrown in the towel, you can now leave our company.
