Presidential politics is about storytelling. Presented with a vivid storyline, voters naturally tend to fit every new event or piece of information into a picture that is already neatly framed in their minds.
No one understands this better than Barack Obama and his team, who won the 2008 election in part because they were better storytellers than the opposition. The pro-Obama narrative featured an almost mystically talented young idealist who stood for change in a disciplined and thoughtful way. This easily outpowered the anti-Obama narrative, featuring an opportunistic Chicago pol with dubious relationships who was more liberal than he was letting on.
A year into his presidency, however, Obamas gift for controlling his image shows signs of faltering. As Washington returns to work from the Thanksgiving holiday, there are several anti-Obama storylines gaining momentum.
The Obama White House argues that all of these storylines are inaccurate or unfair. In some cases these anti-Obama narratives are fanned by Republicans, in some cases by reporters and commentators.
But they all are serious threats to Obama, if they gain enough currency to become the dominant frame through which people interpret the presidents actions and motives.

The big story that he doesn’t want told is:
He and his anti-God marxists are fundamentally and systematically destroying America.
Wow this was actually on the Yahoo front page too. Maybe the dimming of the luster is getting worse.
BTTT
My Dad in Florida, a HUGE Obama supporter (both my parents are) mentioned the gay lover thing yesterday on the phone with nervousness in his voice. He heard about it from tabloids but I was very surprised to hear him mention it. If my Dad mentions a story like this it’s really spreading because my father basically gets his news from CNN and that’s it. He didn’t know who Bill Ayers was until the election was pretty much over.
Yahoo? Wow.
LOL!!
Where is that?
Where is the BC and other sealed records???
Obama has always tracked lower than Carter. It's very suspicious that Obama's recent ratings seem frozen at 50%. That hasn't happened for any other president. They must be global warming up the data.
Further proof that Washington, and Politco are way out of touch.
This perception has not only taken root, it's a giant tree in full-blown leaf !!!
“If you are going to be known as a fighter, you might as well reap the benefits. But some of the same insider circles that are starting to view Obama as a bully are also starting to whisper that hes a patsy.”
Every community organizer whose mentor is Alinksy, has the same problem. They are the school yard bully that pushes people around using threats, intimidation, ridicule and blackmail. All it takes to make them run and hide behind the skirts of their MSM, and special interest groups is one person standing up to them.
This President might for the short term have total control of his party and the corporations that he has bought, however everyone wants to think that they are making choices willingly and not because they have been threatened, harassed, blackmailed or intimidated. Once the public becomes aware that their vote was bought then you will see them throwing Obama and his chief of staff under the bus.
bttt
I spent time with two leftist friends. One is politically blind, the other seems to be frustrated and disgusted with Obama. It was a welcome surprise.
Clinton tacked towards the middle, and was enough of a sociopathic liar to pull it off. I wonder if Obama’s string pullers will let him attempt to “triangulate”, or will he tack further left in desparation?
