State Sen. Jeffrey Piccola (R-15) warned Penn State University President Graham Spanier in a Dec. 3 letter that constituents are demanding the tax dollars be cut to the school unless it addresses its role in the global warming scandal.
Professor Michael Mann, who directs the Penn State's Earth System Science Center, is at the heart of the scam.

Graham Spanier was at Nebraska for several years. He is quite the politician. It will be interesting to watch this lib squirm, before he slips through, rising to defeat the extremist right wingers. The dam will not crack. The scam is way too big to fail! Unfortunately.

The academic fraud exhibited by Prof. Mann is on a scale of that of Ward Churchill at the University of Colorado. Mann should be fired and prosecuted for fraudulently using tax dollars.

If cap and trade goes through our lives are going to get a lot harder because of this fraud. It will be like Mann looted the bank accounts of 300 million persons. He should be punished accordingly.

Here's the
direct link to Sen Piccola's letter.
Seems a bit of a ballsy bluff -- like the Pennsylvania state legislature really is going to withold funding for Penn State because of pending allegations against one assistant professor. Sure, the football season is winding down, but there's basketball too, you know.
To: Roklok
We must continue to publically confront Al Gore until he is arrested or disappears from public life.

Our governor, Fast-Eddy Rendell, held Penn State's funding hostage during the recent budget impasse. If he can do it, it's just possible that the legislature might go-slow on them.

Spanier invited Valerie Plame to the Penn State football homecoming game several weeks ago. She was introduced as a “special” guest. No question which way the political winds blow in State College.

Most all academia is twisted tight to the left. I have the pleasure of spending my evening watching them drool all over themselves in pride at their academic accomplishments, like soaking the taxpayers, and writing textbooks and charging exorberant prices to the students. I only go because I love my spouse, and there is an open bar, not necessarily in that order.

Looks like an abstract of a head - either long hair or a hood on our right, face to the left. Look at the darkest wood in the center (face) dark wood around that - hair and hood. Facial features are indistinct.

The only reason for Penn State to get $338 million from the Pa. taxpayer is so Spainer can have a salary of a half million which does not include a whole lot of perks.
We, the Pennsylvania taxpayers, are suckers.

I'm not familiar with Pennsylvania politics: what did Rendell do? Veto a budget bill and then it was overridden?
If the state legislature wanted to halt funding for Penn State right now because of this climate professor, how would they go about doing it? Can they even do anything about it right now or would they have to wait for the next budget bill? And do you think they have enough votes to make it veto proof?
Sorry for all the questions... I'm not familiar with Pennsylvania poltics.

good to know - and I hope he is successful in getting this fraud investigated by an independent source - not somebody hired by the Penn State administration.

Given that the PA Budget has already passed it would be next year’s budget that would be threatened. Unless the legislature could actually ‘impound the funds’, which I don’t think likely.
I don’t take the threat very seriously.
